RR results etc would suggest that standard Cups have more power than Trophy's (amazed me as obviously its 172 v 182), that and the lower weight would suggest that a Cup is currently quicker. I would put this down 100% to the fact that most Cups have at least 15-50k on them, where as most...

172 goes from 100-0 in 3.99 seconds, quicker than most supercars so I doubt the GTi180 would keep up (as it were!)

Get any of the numberplate? I've had a look through my pics and have an odd feeling I may have seen that 172 before if it is SW area, driver is about the right size!

If I remember correctly some DVLA data appeared last year which suggested of the 2200+ Cups made about 2000 or less were left on the road, sadly it seems at least 200 have expired by one means or another.

Autocar got a standard 172 from 100-0 in 3.99 seconds, quicker than a 360 Modena, Diablo GT, Superlight R500 and 911 Turbo (and every single other car they tested) The only concern with the original brakes would be fade during a hard track session, I can't imagine you would need to upgrade if...

Sadly with the safety issues these days cars won't be getting any lighter, and cars like the Clio/Polo/Golf etc grow up with their owners and get bigger each time around, hopefully to be complemented by a new small car to replace the old one (Lupo, Twingo?)

18s can't be right surely, I was hoping for 16s or at a push 17s considering the car is bigger. Normal new Dynamique sits on 15s with the option for 16s.

Confusing! At Janspeed yesterday I got 144.54 atw and this was fairly average for 172 Cups iirc, therefore if it does have a genuine 170bhp then a 15% loss would be absolutely spot on, if it was up towards 20% I'd be looking at 180bhp, which on a completely standard car with 18k on it would...

Suprised the car stops any better to be honest, standard 172/182 brakes would worry a supercar in a 100-0 contest. Are they K-Tec discs with Brembo calipers?!

Hardly ever hit it personally, its nice and easy to feel and hear when the engine has reached its peak, power starts dropping off around 6500rpm I think so a change up at about 6250rpm is probably optimum.

SDV was 117 I think (decat though), YOJ was 109 I think but don't quote me on those figures. I think around 110 is target for a standard Valver so pretty much spot on. I got 144.54 hp with 131.41 torque, there really was nothing in it between the 172 and 182s, most got around those figures.

Here's a few pics, bit of a Trophy-fest today! Loads more to come, all of which will be found here shortly. I think all the 172/182/Cup/Trophy etc got virtually the same results give or take a few BHP, even the slightly modded ones. Higher mileage...

Seems like Renault generally only include parts if they actually make a difference (understandable!), wind tunnel results showed the Cup spoiler and front splitter increased downforce by a certain percentage (which I can't remember) With the new rear diffuser I would imagine there is no need...
