Got my Cup!!

  172 Cup SOLD
Sold my old 54 plate 1.2 16v dynamique couple of weeks back for 5700 and tonight saw a Cup, instantly fell in love with it, and the rest they say is history!!

cars got 44k on clock, immacculate turini's, couple of minor stone chips - otherwise flawless paintwork and bodywork, fsh and private plate S20 CUP, got it for 6.5k and hopefully picking up later in the week!!

cant wait

  172 Cup SOLD
i just cant wait to drive it, first off i wanted a f/f 172 with climate control and the works but after seein modial blue in the light, i couldnt resist..........i was hooked!

the colours spot on especially against the turini's, the overal look is so much better as far as i'm concerned - dont want to offend any 172 owners tho!

  172 Cup SOLD
i'll be being ultra careful with my right foot for the first few weeks dont worry about that!

i forgot to ask if it belonged to anyone on here before the current owner?

  Engles Mummy
lol @ being careful...that’s what they all say m8!

I was 17 and I owned a 1.2 16v, drove a year, upgraded straight to a 172 cup. The first day was sooo awesome, I took it slow round the corners and built up areas, but soon as I got to a straight I f**king hammered it!

My only advice to you is, go slow in the wet...and get use to the handling because a standard cup handles like a pile of shite.

Enjoy mate, you won't regret it! Recently moved to a Cup myself and that was from an Evo but it still feels great to me and no regrets :D

congrats dude

we both have bought our current dream cars (clio cup and a clio v6) in a matter of days of each other.

cant wait to see them togther

Nice plate :)

Here is mine...http://chrisharrison.smugmug.com/photos/56069635-M-1.jpg

I went from an 03 1.2 16V to the Cup, scary but oh so good! Sadly S25 is off to pastures new soon to be replaced with a 16V, been the best driving year of my life though, you won't regret it for a second!

S20 is the same one or very similar to the one my missus occasionally see's up near J16 of the M4, she's always wanted to talk to them so I can organise to get pics with them!

Err its not a crash repair write off is it?
Thats number plate sounds familier with one I know which was written off but the milage is much lower the one I'm thnking of had 60k or so.

Eh?

You must have been in some proper f***ed ones then Subway, as mine's standard and it handles very well (always has done).

Enjoy your new car mate, but as others have said, take it easy...don't become a statistic.

I really like the cups exterior, but i'm not to keen on the interior espically those seats.

Thats exactly what i was thinking. Just because you put coilovers on your 5.5sec CUP *sniggers* doesnt mean the standard setup is bad.

If they handled like s**t, then why do magazines etc rate them so well?

I think someone needs to engage their brain before the type next time.

  V6, Trackhawk, GTS
Std cup is More than enough for track and road...Much more useable that coilovers.

reading this post is making me scared to say the least.

I went with DANX2C yesterday to buy his cup and was suprised at the pick up etc we were demonstrated.

Dans gone from 1. 16v clio to the cup.

I have gone from 1.2 8v punto to 3 ltr 230 bhp V6!

whooops!

Nice one mate, you're gonna love that coming from a 1.2!

I had a 1.2 8v X plate Clio and went to a 172 full fat and it was a big step but totally wicked. As long as you take your time in learning to use the power wisely you'll have a wicked time with it!!

Noting wrong with my Cup suspension. I'm sure Coilovers will make an improvement but after the way mine handled on track I'd say the Cup suspension is well up to the job!!!

agree, kept and keeping mine standard - best handling car I've ever owned...the twitchiness & torque steer is all part of why I bought a Cup - f**kin raw performance

Welcome to the Cup Club
