    It all depends how far you want to go with it, really. Read up on the Burpspeed car if you want to take it to extreme weight saving! If not that far, trace it back, chop it, tape up loom again..

    Regarding the seized ones, get yourself a breaker bar. They'll be pretty tight, but they will come off.

    Sounds like the starter motor. Does it not click at all? If not, give it a tw*t with a hammer/similar (it's down behind the manifold, fyi.) If not, check battery voltage. I've got a starter motor spare, if you need one.

    You should do. Normally teh full 72k service. I know i'd specially request the garage to write 'full cambelt and aux belt kits'. Most specialists on here will probably do that.

    O Rly? Ph1 172 definitely has PAS resevoir. Top right of the engine bay as facing. Next to the coolant resevoir.

    To check if the power steering's working, put the key in and turn to the notch you can move the wheel without the steering lock coming on. Put pressure on the wheel and start the car. When the pump kicks in, you should feel a 'kick' in the wheel, and the steering will get lighter. If it's not...
