Still really want to do the conversion. Gather some parts next year?
Dci straight through mot today, mot tester always comments on how clean it is, clean bill of health no advisories.
Looks great. I still have a soft spot for these and 106 gti's.
My x had a gti 10+ years ago, i lowered it on springs up front & done torsion bar. Had mega fun it it blasting around the local b roads. One day it started tapping on top end after a good blast out, checked oil and nothing in it...
Matched ecu/uch & key ? If so it should be fine just bosh it in. If needs be reconfig the settings on the the uch with clip to remove warning lights etc.
Kangoo makes a good daily when its not broken, which seems to be fairly often lately? get my other van back up and running first then ill probably do it. The plan is to get some decent derv power then trip to the Nurburgring in it. Might even go next year with the 1.5 in for the crack.
They have some kind of sealant holding the lense to the case. I cant remember what i used to reseal them back on, whatever clear silicone was in the gun at the time. Worked fine still on my dci now
Handling is great its good on the back roads. Needs better springs really as on apex spinebreakers at the moment. Torque far better than any small engined petrol clio, with a bit of pedalling it can go pretty well?
The 1.9dti is out of the laguna. Quite a big job to fit as it uses the ndo 6...
I regret not buying a williams when the prices were rock bottom. Always liked the look of them but at the time i wasnt interested as no turbo ! How times change lol.
Im sure the downpipe was a ktec 2.25" with bored out elbow. It was on my Extra van years ago ran 235hp on it and 12sec qtr ? still small by todays standards though !
I was lucky and picked my H reg gtt up for £1800 ten years ago when prices were rock bottom like the current 172 prices. Bought a load of new oem bits for it and done a light restore. Prices have went supersonic now ! A couple of pics with the gtt above?
Mine is 65hp its pretty povo spec. Its no flyer but fairly nippy compared to the small petrol engined clio's. It will sit at 70mph all day on the motorways but if 80 or higher feels like your flogging it. Good mpg though 65mpg @70mph all day long.
100hp is the best one to have. Ive planned on...
A few updates
Been a bit neglected recently as loads on. A few weeks back a front wheel bearing started making mega noise so has not really moved for past few weeks. All the other cars are sorn for winter and with only the Kangoo on the road (or off when it breaks ?) and mot runs out soon...
Shes pretty much done until the new year & weather starts picking up. Everything working for the first time in years ! Will be fantastic once finished.
You dont need to code them in or nothing fancy but nothing wrong with resetting the adaptives. Adaptive is the key here it has adjusted to run ok for the shitty injectors and you bang a nice new set in which will take the ecu a while to compensate for. Use the proper tools for the job if you...
I would reinitialize the adaptive fuelling settings on the ecu with clip if you have changed the injectors for new. Mine was hunting all over before doing it after changing an injector.
Mine is a full chip clone clip. Works great not had any issues. Idle was all over the place on initial startup but no air leaks or nothing. It eventually settled to a degree, but after reinitializing the settings its been spot on. After any work on the fuel system or throttle its worth resetting...
Its worth spending the extra dollar all day long
A few years ago i spent £500 3 times over rebuilding a hybrid garrett t28. It failed due to basically been shiny shite 2nd hand shot blasted components - last time round the exhaust impellor sheared off which really pissed me off so stumped up...
After 400 or so miles was looking quite weathered with road muck.
Snowfoamed & cleaned with Autofinesse products & 2 bucket wash. Too cold to apply any additional qd to finish but clean again.
Rear swept out
38.2 mpg avearge mixed driving over approx 400miles. Awesome for 2.0Clip back out for...
Update
Had a slight misfire recently which developed into a full on 3 cylinder offbeat running issue ! Quick scan with clip & checked resistance of injectors indicated cylinder 4 injector had indeed went open circuit. A few faults logged?
@Austin-182 kindly give me his old injectors so stuck...
Went to Kent from Middlesbrough earlier this year to pick up the mrs 250cup - it ticked all the boxes, low mileage and good spec. Travel as far as you need to for the right car, if your waiting for one to land on your doorstep you might be waiting forever.
