    Michelin PS3's vs Continental Conti-Sport's

Sarah's got PS3's all round on the TT, obviously she drives so quickly she needs 600 quids worth of tyres, but meh ... They last about 10k on her car - so wear rate certainly isnt one of their strongpoints lol.

ShedTrophy is actually ... immaculate Trophy. Mega Clean. 56k go home.

Also, completely forgot to mention it in the original post, but yesterday was my 2 year anniversary with the car :o

    My Z3M Coupe

This is the main problem, the Z3M Coupe is a specialist car, that is sometimes quite hard to value, as its very much a car priced with your heart, not heart. Glasses probably says it was worth £6k, whereas in reality, it would quite easily have sold on PH for £12k. Look at the trouble Luke had...

ShedTrophy is actually ... immaculate Trophy. Mega Clean. 56k go home.

It could be, although the rate im using it at the moment, 200k might take a while lol ... did do 175bhp at 176k though iirc. Tyres wise, i really like them, i honestly think they very much are comparable with PE2's/ContiSports but at a much lower price. Might just be the way the car is setup...

    Iron x ?

Nah, still has the cat in! As JD says, not cleaned properly in 2 years, 15k miles and 6 trackdays (using CL RC6 pads) ... I was using dirt as paint protection instead of wax.

    Iron x ?

Iron-X is awesome!! This is the 3rd application (in a row) on the Trophy on Saturday - got dirt yo.

ShedTrophy is actually ... immaculate Trophy. Mega Clean. 56k go home.

Thanks! We set it at roughly the same as the Sportlines/Sachs that were on there previously. Handling > Lowz. Also, this is what the car looked like earlier on in the day. This is the 2nd coating of Iron-X by the way :clown: It was really quite rank.

ShedTrophy is actually ... immaculate Trophy. Mega Clean. 56k go home.

There is that i suppose, doesnt look too bad for nearly 187k does it ;) But yes, i do now regret selling the original seats, they did however pay for 3 track days though, which at the time, was considerably more important!! Now, well yes, the seats do let the rest of the interior down somewhat...

ShedTrophy is actually ... immaculate Trophy. Mega Clean. 56k go home.

Sometimes you have to move on, & it was for this reason alone that i decided to clean it this weekend. Method for the geeks: Pressure wash, AG shampoo & wash mit, bucket with grit guards, followed by half a bottle of of Iron-X. I havent clayed, polished or machine polished it yet, which imho...

    Best way to remove tints

0000 was fine on my M3, will be doing the golf shortly. Acetone/tardis did seem to work differently, i found the acetone better actually, tardis just made everything greasy!! Be careful with it though, it marks plastic/leather and turns it white - had to get the black marker pen out to colour...

    Best way to remove tints

Peel off film Clean glass with pure acetone & wire wool (this removes the sticky residue) Clean again with tardis & wire wool Polish glass with windolene Takes approx 20-25 mins per window. Easy peasy.

    Saturday's "The Unit" Attendance list.

From the look of it, he didnt fit them at all, hence it being on the bumpstops innit. lowz > suspension.

I've already got nav with the MFD2 unit though, wouldnt want to lose that as i hate having a TomTom stuck on the windscreen (although i do keep it in the glovebox for those emergency, ancient VW satnav doesnt know where i am moments ...). I'd probably get £150 or so for my current unit though i...

    :R32

Yeah, have read about them being a little fragile if you do any work on the front end of the car. Not just springs though, anything that involves using a hammer to bang things basically ... although there is a similar issue with the e46's! Only difference is that they are pennies to...

Is it really that easy lol? Could i simply 'put the pipe back in' again if i did want to change it back? Also, have you any experience of the WALK kit, H&R ARB's, or springs/dampers Gaz? I cannee be bothered read through 5 billion posts on the R32oc. Not that its working atm anyways.

Pinky shifting, letting the car double clutch like it should ... Flapper mod is being done tomorrow. Think im going to just clamp the vacuum pipe though, saves having to remove anything then - and easier to reverse if i dont like it! Gally said its a little dronier (spelling?!) on the motorway...

I have small hands/short fingers, so whilst its ok at 9-3, if im holding the wheel at 8-2, or 10-4 i cant reach the normal paddles :o

Mines got multi-function as well as DSG though, & id want another flat bottom one really ... Will keep an eye out though. £400 was just the BIY ones on eBay. Probably being sold by 200mphorwhateverhescallinghimselfnow. Im sure they're cheaper elsewhere!
  21. Sir_Dave

    :R32

Looks to be about £400 or so on ebay for the steering wheel, then another chunk for the airbag no doubt. Golfs are very upgradable though, you can change the climate panel/satnav from MK5>Mk6 easily as well, ie change from this: To this: Only problem is, thats money id rather spend on some...

Wow, they turned up quick!! Massive improvement to the drive though arent they, especially for such a cheap/simple change to the car :D

BIGASH/FF-Racing X85 Clio Cup Racer Project

Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He lol, im clearly a car's best friend ... the Trophy (on 186k) is currently on the original engine, gearbox and clutch!! Still pushes out 175bhp at the fly and goes like a scolded cat. The more miles they...

Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He Feel free to leave it down in Chertsey for a couple of weeks and FailSport will get it up & running perfectly in no time ... Although to be fair, we probably need to build Nick & Ollie's car 1st really :drunk:

BIGASH/FF-Racing X85 Clio Cup Racer Project

Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He I simply do not understand why this car is so unreliable!!!? Was it not essentially built from scratch by TDF? Mine has done 186k miles, is 99% reliable, whilst being maintained soley by myself & 3 other...

Re: the issues with DSG, it is usally the electronic connections with the DSG's Mechatronic unit that fail (in a similar way to the e46 M3 Vanos Solenoid in fact). VW obviously just replace the whole lot, at a cost of circa £1500. Ecu Testing will refurb the unit for circa £350. Going to do the...
