I'd also prefer plain black tbh, but they only options are 'carbon' or a awful plasticky looking silver, so i chose the former. Could always spray them black i suppose. Being brutally honest (& obviously i havent driven it on track), but as a car to do 99% of tasks, its the best ive owned, &...

Nah, it has 'paddles' but they are tiny and you can only reach them if your hands are at 9-3. You can just about see them behind the sokes of the wheel. These entensions essentially stick to the back of the standard ones and make it 20x easier to change gear!!

So on Sunday afternoon i got back from 3 1/2 weeks in Vietnam/Thailand and unfortunately it wasnt the Trophy that i was looking forwards to getting back in :o For 99% of my driving the R32 is simply better. Its not an ultimate trackday warrior, but lets be honest, ill do perhaps 1, maybe 2 track...

    Apple TV - very slow

Computer - spare room Router - cupboard next to the front door (where the BT socket is) Apple TV - living room iPad/iPhone/Netbook - all work ok anywhere in the house

    Apple TV - very slow

Not yet, only played around with it for a little while so far. My wireless network is literally just an O2 wireless router that all my devices then connect to - how would i go about speeding that up? Some kind of signal booster?

    Apple TV - very slow

So following on from this thread: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?647559-Replicating-iPad-screen-audio-on-screen-home-threatre I bought an Apple TV at the weekend and have now setup it all up. However, im beginning to wish i hadnt bothered, as even when trying to do something as...

    Smart repairs

From memory, a good friend of mine who works for a very well regarded bodyshop refers to them as 'unsmart repairs' ... From my understanding they are fine if you arent fussy, for example use a brush to clean your car. If you are a fan of the two bucket, furry towel & 15 layers of unicorn spunk...

    RIP Trophy 433/500

Lol, the amount of parts i have, mines more like 1.5 Trophys, although i could do with some proper Recaros ;) Its worth £4.5k all day long tbh Luke, Clart just paid over 4 grand for a Cat D one off eBay ffs. Yours was mint, & had the dampers/cambelt done properly ...

    RIP Trophy 433/500

You can have mine for £4k if you like?

    RIP Trophy 433/500

Mike just told me the news :( Poor old non-shed Trophy, & more importantly poor old Luke - hope you're ok buddy :) As Mike says, see if you can buy it back, either so Mike & I can help you break it, or so i can have it for spare parts for mine. x

Nah, i just dont see the point in financing a £20k derv (like a 'normal' person in my position) then watching it lose hundreds of £££'s in value every month. Id rather spend the money saved in 'lack of depreciation' on fueling a big engined, older petrol car instead. Makes sense to me using my...

I know what you mean, but i cant say i think about it tbh, just use it, fill up, & repeat. M3 swallowed £750 of VPower in January alone :o Because idiot who should probably drive a diesel.
  14. Sir_Dave

    :R32

Probably wouldnt use the Trophy tbh, can build a much quicker saxo/106 for considerably less money !!! By driving smoothly!! I certainly dont hang about, but the car is essentially used for a commute that is 95% motorway. If you keep a constant speed, you do far better mpg than accelerating...

    :R32

Depending on how many miles you do really - im averaging 28-29mpg, but you could easily get low 20's with a lot of town work. Like anything with a bit 3.0+ petrol engine, you dont buy it to worry about mpg all the time!! It is no worse than my 197 though ;) Nah, we'll buy fairly soon Mark...

Yeah, at some point lol. Deal is that i can go racing, if we then go travelling for 3 months at some point in the next 5 years ... To be honest, id be happy with even one race, just to tick that box in the dreams category of my lifetime. With luck a talent scout for McLaren would just so happen...

I've got an iPhone4 so it should have worked? Arent you on Scotmobile though, they dont like sending texts to the English networks from memory. You can take our minutes, but you cant take our freedom, etc. Re: the thing for under the bonnet, whilst i am tempted, purely for extra warble noise...

lol. Gally is right though, changing gear with a clutch, unless you are on track/going for a hoon, is overrated. IR oldgit (with 10 thousand posts, wahoo).

lol, i took the clio to work yesterday morning. Start engine Let it warm up Try & put it into gear Stall Seems i needs to press a clutch in the clio :o

When you only keep a car for 3 months on average, everything you do is just before you sell it Is a nice car, but you just never know whats around the corner really. Sarah has given me permission to go racing if i want to next year, so i might end up selling it & buying another 320d Sport to...

Ha ha, they're generally used to it now!! Although we do have a new girl who was slightly confused by me turning up in 3 days during one week when i bought it lol - 330/Trophy/Golf. You need to come to footy more often ... then you'd see/hear it ;)
  22. Sir_Dave

    :R32

Was planning on buying a house, so sold it for a 197 Cup to be more sensible/save money (plan was to maybe get rid of the Trophy as well), but the 197's mpg didnt warrant the lack of speed, & it wasnt as fun as the Trophy. So i sold it after 3 weeks. Then bought a 330i Sport touring for Le Mans...

    Trophy vs Ph1

Both look great!! Wish i could take photos as bad as you two!! PH1 has had an epic transformation, well done Ryan :star: But that Trophy has always been mint ... ;)

  28. Sir_Dave

    E36 328i (Budget) Track Car

They usually gain power, so you might be surprised!! Budgies utter nail of a 175k mile 328i touring did about 210bhp at SRR lol ...

    E36 328i (Budget) Track Car

e36's are brilliant cars, even better when track prepped!! You'll be amazed at how much better it runs on 17's though.

    Konigsports or SPAX coilovers?

I too would go for KonigSports, the Koni dampers are brilliant and can be adjusted from very soft, to very hard depending on preference. They are a great drive. No experience of the Spax on the clio, so barring rumour & speculation, i cant really offer an opinion :)
