This is the ambiguity that we wont really understand until people start getting MOTs.
Its unclear as to whether things like airbags and washers are required if your car was fitted with them when it left the factory.
Either way, I'm screwed. I have washers fitted but one of them is wedged...
The issue is supply. They have suddenly become quite popular with the RS Clio scene, so demand has risen massively. Whiteline are an Australian based company so getting them to the UK means shipping them on a boat. Companies don't tend to order that many in for stock so they sell out quickly...
Whats the cheapest way to get some decent lowering and stiffening on a stock 172?
Since fitting 15s and doing a couple of track days, it desperately needs lowering, and I would like a stiffer set-up. My initial though is just some Eibach Sportlines, but what about cheap coilovers? I'm not...
I think it was Toastfrenzy's Cup at Bedford with epic front stance that made me think about this. :)
And lol at unsprung weight. I could fit lead spacers and still have a net reduction following swapping the stock 172 wheels for OZ F1s.
Is there enough of an advantage of fitting spacers to my...
The Clio already has a front ARB.
The rear ones just bolt to the bottom of the shock, so it doesn't matter what suspension you have they will fit.
In simple terms, they tie the rear wheels together in such a way that one sides suspension will have reduced travel if the other side isn't also...
The double win in GP2 at Silverstone in 2006. He got a standing ovation from the crowd and the commentators noted that they had never seen such support for a GP2 race.
I was there to see the F1, so it counts as an F1 moment :)
Welcome to the club.
50% of people who try to remove the rear seats do this. Its because the thread sticks outs the bottom of the car and is exposed to the elements and therefore rusts to hell.
If I decide to get rid of mine I will grind it off.
Yeah, the driver seat has had the washers removed.
I'm trying to convince the GF that stripping my interior would be a good idea, and if I do I would like some lower and lighter bucket seats. But only if they don't cost a fortune.
What would be the cheapest way to get a couple of buckets into my 172 that would lower the seating position as much as possible, but also accommodate a 6'4" 'large' guy :)
I'm in no hurry to put a cage an harnesses in, so any sort of halfway house half bucket type things would be good to
Wassat?
Edit: as a quick guess:
Lambo Aventador
Ferrari 458 GT3
Astom Martin Virage
Audi R15+
Some sort of Scirocco
Audi RS3
Global Focus ST
Some big Cadillac thing
Some GMC Typhoon thing
Well thats it.
I hope your all happy with yourselves.
Look what you have made me do.
Picking up a 360 tomorrow evening and grabbing Forza from Tesco on the way home :)
It's not about wether you do or dont have a spare, its about wether you should have one. Thats why 182 drivers are fine, they are covered, but as a 172 should have a spare, if you don't have one and get a puncture, the AA can tell you to jog on.
Yeah, I know I could just buy another wheel.
The trouble with the AA and RAC is that if you should have a spare and don't and the issue you have could be solved by having a spare, then they effectively just move you out of the way and leave you, regardless of your level of cover (I know this...
What do you do?
I sold my 5 172 wheels and got a set of 4 F1's. But that means I am now down a spare. I can take a can of tyre weld, but I know from experience that if I muller a tyre that cant be fixed with it, and I don't have a spare when I should have, the AA/RAC will only tow me up to 10...
Hang on, so ALL cars in all DLC packs will be available in the game for everyone as opponents, you just need to buy the pack to actually be able to drive them?
Thats a genius idea.
