Its funny, the regs are more open and less fixed than it was in 2013 when it started. i was really hoping that the refs would have been nailed for this season and to simply say "we will adjust them in 2016 " is a joke, as I fear thats what he will say, same as when the reg was last questioned...
Shhhhh dont tell him that ;)
Yes I meant to say that, their great bit of kit no doubt about that, but just no justification to adjust the regs, these fall into same category as chassis development not engine (for the sale of the series regulations)
Sonny
I think you took a huge risk to be honest James and Steve should know better.
I would disagree that comparing the RC hubs and added as a justification for a SC, the hubs reduce bump steer if you suffer from it and personally wouldn't say it reduces lap times otherwise.
This a sensitive...
Ha I did wonder what you was doing when you said you wast trying something different, assumed you was going groupN timings or 197cams etc.
Are you staying in class A or moving to class G?
Great power figures, how does it drive?
Mines 872 dry with cage, single seat, there is still weight to be saves, better lightweight seat and subframe, poly windscreen, shell sandblasted/dripped. But then i think all that would only really save an around 50kg max!
Willwoods over oem also would sae about 6kg.
Cant see it getting to...
Summary of items weighed for reference from my 172 cup
2.2kg Both Window motors complete
2 kg Both wing mirrors complete
2.8kg Tool Kit

These was the google earth overlays from a race last season at Castle Combe.
You can see the red lines going over onto the grass slightly, obviously i didn't drive onto the grass (not on that day anyway) so im guessing its the observing point of the red trail lines and the google earth overlay.
They are both 2 fantastic tools thats cant be compared.
The Video Vbox great, i like how you can have 2 or more screens and compare your own lap times as well as driver actions (at what stage you change gear, steering position etc etc).
However It would be better to overlap different driver...
Looking good fella, how did you remove the seat rails?
I could be wrong (not got bluebook to hand) but those harness eyes in the harness bar might not be allowed.
Brands is a amazing circuit, what it lacks in distance makes up for it in elevation changes. Not difficult to learn but to master the speed of Surtees/Maclaren and paddock hill. Cant wait.
Nice one Andrew, are you doing a test day before at Brands? (£180 2x30min sessions). Seems you will have to get used to your new set up again, I was the same last season, every race I ran a more or less different set up so always chasing arounds settings and set up etc.
I think you do (get out then get back in again) from what i remember reading in the SR (however this was over 2 years ago now). So dont fancy the Tricolore Trophy then?
@Mini182 fair one, cant remember reason why we didn't do this now. So you use 3 5th gears, isnt that a tad excessive? Is that due to the final drive of the Gripper? (Did you source a 172 cup box?)
We fitted the 5th while box was in but the black end cap of the box wouldn't come off fully so had to bend the inner wheel arch slightly, not sure if this was due to solid mounts or not.
First thing you need to do Joe is buy a Goracing pack, all the details are in there to book your ARDS test and to obtain your medical and race license.
Then you need your ppe, such as race suit, boots, gloves and helmet.
From this point on you can build, hire or share a race car.
The race...
