I asked what the tests were called...
"The monaros needed a compliance plate and vehicles with out one need to go through tests and all sorts of s**t to get one - whys this???"
You know my mate Sam?
He took an old M535 over, 2 Monaro's and a 1990's Merc.
Any imported cars have to go through a test, very strict, and it cannot have any corrosion or oil leaks. Anywhere.
The slightest hint and they'll tell you to get fucked.
They'll put it on a ramp and go over it...
Noted.
Next time we get a car in work with a caved in roof, I'll hit you up for your PDR guys number.
That's if he's not too busy turning water into wine or parting the sea.
There is so much s**t 'advice' floating around this thread.
OP, just do what suits you. If you're not savvy on cars/repairs just take your money and move on.
I've been cleaning cars for 20 years and I've never come across a wheel that can't be cleaned up with decent acid.
Only use it once though and ideally with the wheels off the car as the acid will discolour the calipers, make the wheel bolts rusty etc.
I'd try iron X first.
Then I'd try wonder wheels.
Then if neither of those work, buy some of this....

It's f**king horrible but it will work. Don't use it on your lawn, make sure you wear gloves, and make sure you rinse it all off properly...
Put all new headlamp and LED sidelight/number plate bulbs in.
I hate yellow bulbs.
Sadly I dropped a bulb into the light unit so tomorrow I have to take the f**king bumper off to get the light out.
Fucksticks.
But can you tell the difference between 3 and 5 year old belts?
No invoice from a reputable garage = belts need doing.
These cars are worth next to nothing now so a £600 job is quite a big deal.
