Guys you do realise that a fluorescent light drains miniscual amounts of power. Putting it on the boot light will be absolutely fine. Just use a voltmeter to determine the wires that need cutting.

They aint interchangable without as you said before "reprogramming" so swapping the ecu it just wasting your time. With the old ECU does the immobiliser deactivate thats the most liekly cause if you ask me. Look at the dash when the ignition on is there a red light flashing? Infact after...

Dont know if its any help but I believe it activates when the coolant reaches 75c. Hence them running like crap from cold for a few mins.

How do you know it is electronic bud? Or are the dynamiques all electrical?

Itl be unburnt fuel getting into the exhaust which is causing the smell. Ovi take it back to the gaarge and get them to give it the once over if you havnt already :)
