Thanks for all the positive comments it's highly appreciated. Now I know they work i can trigger the next stage of changes to the Clio, not many but enough to make a difference.
Also, this is the company that machined the wheels for me. It's a small company but busy, very accommodating...
Haha!! So maybe a 2 tone black and LY spoiler, was even thinking of painting the Turinis black after seeing the pictures last night. It would colour match everything else.
Very lucky, I put a cheeky Facebook shout out to see if any of my friends knew a place local. A mate who runs his own mechanics business put me onto them as he uses them too so jobs a gooden.
Usually it's £15 if you have tyres mounted already that need taking off and disposing of.
Yeah the top wing is obviously right across then drops down each side. The original has to come off to make way for a narrower one to tuck in between the top spoiler part.
Are they not 2 piece? Either way an exact copy.
Tyres are Yokohama ADO8s with 6ishmm tread, I'll think I'll do the Nurburgring trip on the OE wheels.
Now I know the wheels 100% I can now move onto the next stage
I've been put onto someone about a spoiler so there's now an option for one that's much cheaper.
All the wheels balanced up fine, I drove about 3 miles on them at 30-40mph and they felt OK with no vibration. I took them off and put the OE wheels back on last night, I'm just debating whether to...
It's my sisters place, I don't have a driveway so I do all the car shenadigans there. Very accommodating, plenty of cups of coffee and dinner. I painted the wheels in the garden and I have my own shed to store car bits..... I built a 21ft extension to her garage last year to give them...
As mentioned a bit of a magpie, I paid £275 for a set of 6. They retail new just over £200 each for 17x8s.
ADO8s new are approx £100 each
So new wheels and tyres is about £1200, I paid just over half that
I can sleep well tonight knowing now I have the approval from the mighty MarkCup.
Thank you very much, genuinely :cool:
I'm a bit of a magpie, don't get me wrong I'll buy new as and when but if I see a bargain that's 2nd hand I'm all over it.
So, these started life as a set of 6 wheels I bought from E Bay off a chap near Shrewsbury. They came off a Subaru Impreza, the same 5 stud pattern, an ET fairly close to OE wheels but centrebores 10mm smaller.
I had the centrebores machined out by a local company from 56.1mm to 66.1mm and 2...
Mark, aside of the the car have you thought to maybe do a video of.... How you edit, make the videos? What equipments involved, time and effort into doing each one. I guess a behind the lense look of whats involved, it's becoming an increasing interest what with social media nowadays so (to me)...
Quality
I know we probably cross paths in music taste as well. I have a few back to 93 drum n bass classics as well as some newer d&b. I'm right into my deep house etc but not to mix up.
Mate let me know (if it's ok with you) when you bust out the turntables. It's funny as Mart and I...
You have turntables?! Kept that quiet mate... Old school tunage? I bought some Gemini direct drives a few months back and just need to sort a mixer, amp and speakers.
Clio looked mint.
Absofrikkinlutely! On both counts, I'm surprised it's out and about in daylight looking so unspacered, un spoilered.... And un Akro'd 😂
It's not like he has to spend the money on Brylcreem clay wax or Just for Men:monkey:
If you're needing new rear discs and pads @George@RTR_Parts is your man. Only buy genuine rear discs and pads, other makes have inferior quality bearings. Also make sure you have the rear spacer washers behind the discs. Std rear pads will be just fine too.
1st question I ask myself is how long since the last change. On my 200 EDC Renault recommend every 4 years, that obviously doesn't take into consideration variables such as trackdays etc. If trackdays become a regular occurrence you could say refresh fluid after every couple, even after every...
The basics really:
Tyres have plenty of tread left
Discs all round are ok and pads have plenty on
Coolant level ok with no leaks
Oil level ok, no leaks.
Torque wrench or wheel brace to check wheel nuts after every session.
I have a small toolbox with spanners, sockets, zip ties etc JUST in...
I was hoping that someone from here would hopefully buy it, sort the problem out then enjoy it. I've built a few Clios in the last 9 years and it's not often you hear about them, it was a friend who told me about it. A car is a car at the end of the day but you never wish for something...
Crazy considering the guy comes from Scotland. It's a long way to go twice to not have it sorted. I would have just left it there and let Chris have a look as and when he had the spare time.
Saying that my friend sent me a screenshot from another forum saying the car has been bought, and for...
