I was there. 172 with 182 twin Exhaust. Saw a really nice Blue 182 cup in Whittlebury Park Camping and another 172 just like mine (minus exhausts) in the car park at the track.
We jumped ship a bit early. A night in a tent with gail force winds and torrential rain screwed us up a bit.
"I'm tempted by the stripes..... but then I think, nah.."
:)
Looked very nice. Hope you got out of the field ok. We jumped ship and left Sunday morning to park on the gravel at the track.
Cool. Cheers guys.
My Birthday soon, so will see about getting one then.
I will drop MT Audio a PM when I decide on a model about stalk adapters, he seems to know his stuff.
Just ordered my 4 for this year. Being a newbie RS owner, whats the usual CS aproach to this? Any meets? any stands? Any chance to park in a massive group of RS owners and feel a small smug sence of satisfaction? :)
I tend to listen to music in Albums, so never really going to have a list of songs longer than about 20.
I will look at the Alpine HUs as well as the Sonys. Do they both have the iPod connection out of the back, so I can hide the iPod in the Glovebox and it doesnt look like its anything other...
2 reasons really, firstly I dont like having things stuck in cradles, they annoy me. I hev my phone on a cradle and it bugs me. And secondly, I dont yet own an iPod, and ones with broken screens etc sell for pennies on ebay, yet would work perfectly with a device that doesnt use the screen to...
cheers Bennett.
The trouble with the connectiosn to the stock HU are that im limited to the stock display, and most, if not all connectors will only show "TR 01" etc on the screen, which means while I could control it from the HU/stalk, I would still need to mount it so I can see it...
Yeah, the stock HU is conviniently still the same standard aftermaket HU size.
I would want full control of the iPod/HDD from the HU atleast, but preferably the stalk. Im happy to buy an adapter to do it, as long as its not massively over priced.
Id like to just stash whatever device has the...
Hi all
I'm after some advice on head units and things to connect up my car. my aim is such:
To be able to have all my music (100GB or so) on a device in the car, and a headunit that can play it by searching through artists, albums, etc. Also to be able to use the stalk controls on my...
Seen a Blue Clio 200 parked up on Ogbourne St George between Swindon and Marlborough on the way home tonight, about 5:30pm. Blue with Black wheels and the Black 200 bumper, but with the Black Guernsey number plate it looked awesome. If your on here, we need pics!
Every car should have black...
Well thats a dissapointment :(
My main issue with the 172 wheel is its size. Im 6'4" with long legs and my righ hand clips my thigh when turning. Was hopind a 197/200 wheel would solve this, but it looks almost the same size :(
It is slightly dished I think, so the wheel would be a bit...
Hi all
I would like to know what the diameter of the standard 197 or 200 steering wheel is? If you have one, and have a tape measure, could you possibly measure the diameter from outside edge to outside edge? I need to know how much smaller than my 380mm 172 wheel it is!
Many thanks!
Stock everything on my car except the exhaust. I cant see me changing the suspension at the moment as the car is a daily. If my future plans work out then when I replace it it will be kept and tracked, with new suspension and all the associated stripping out, so its likely the spacers will be...
I do love the Trophy Red.
Ive also decided that the lump in the rear bumper for the number plate light is a PITA. Keep catching glances of mine when I walk near it and think someone has pranged it!
Anything to stop you detailing how/what you did in a guide so we can do it ourselves?
I really want to loose my standard 172 wheel. Its embarrassing :(
Will 20mm not be to much and push the tred out of the arch?
I must say I am tempted to put some spacers on my 172FF. The stock look looks like the arches are slightly to far out for the wheels. Where would you buy either the 5mm spacers or some larger ones and new bolts?
Do they do much for...
Seen as this will likely be a lot cheaper than the diagnostic/fix it route, is there any more information on these switches so I can try this first? All the information I can find about it is that its there.
Cheers
Cool, will do will. Ill be the silver 172 with the barry boy 182 style exhaust! :)
Ill get some pics up when its clean, which with a 35 mile commute, won't be often!
See u all soon!
ABS and SERV come on, nothing else (unless someone has moved the passenger seat and the airbag light is on). Where could I get use of a diagnostics machine, or where can youu buy decent ones cheap? Id like to know where to look.
Hey, sorry, forgot to check back at this :)
Im just next to Salisbury plane, just outside Westbury (or Trowbridge if you dont know Westbury)
Going to start looking into meets and things definitely. Seen 5 variations of RS Clio on the way home the other day, so definitely a few about!
Hi all
Strange problem that has arisen on my 172FF. After about 30 minutes of normal driving (half way along my commute) my ABS light comes on. A stamp on the brakes proves that the ABS is definitely not working when it comes on. The random thing is that if I stop, turn the engine of, then...
How much did you get them for, if you dont mind me asking?
My car came with a mixture of budget and slightly more budget tyres on it! Trouble is they were replaces just before I bought it, so while I want to get rid ASAP, I cant bring myself to bin a set of tyres that have done less than 1500...
Lol. Well put!
Looking at it, It looks as though they increased the size of the airbag area to stick some cruise control buttons around the bottem, and then increased the size of the wheel to go around that... but then didnt decrease the size back again in wheels that dont have the buttons! It...
Hi Hutchie. Can you, or anyone, confirm the laguna wheel is smaller than the stock 172 wheel?
Also, is there any more information about the twingo wheel?
Cheers
