Needing to flush mine, what's the process? Undo lowest radiator hose and let it all drain out, hosepipe through top radiator hose inlet to flush and refill? Is there a bleed screw on the radiator to get the air out once refilled?
Think I'm with you on that to be honest as the CL8's are £30 cheaper as well over the DS1.11's. The coefficient of the CL8's is 0.6 compared to 0.4 on the CL5+ that 50% more friction! DS1.11 coefficient is only 0.49 so can see why @scotiamr2t prefers them.
Ive had DS3000 and thought they where to grabby and locked the wheels to easily (this was on 4 pots mind) i now run CL5+ on standard callipers and honestly don't rate them, good when warm but when at max temp are pretty poor IMO.
After lots of reading I'll be going for the DS1.11 next as they...
How old are your dampers? If still original try changing these first as I've just put on new dampers with AMAX/APEX springs and the ride quality is much, much better than the old worn dampers and springs, the AMAX springs are 'supposidly' the hardest on the market as well.
Just a thought.
Just been out in the Clio and gave LFB a go and it doesn't half aid in cornering, even on cold r888s the grip and balance of the car is much improved. Now to put it into pratice next week...
Yeah mate in the gear you're wanting to take the corner in. Becomes more difficult when having to change gear heal and toeing and trail braking into a corner as you've done the majority of the braking on entry with the right foot, suppose if its a long sweeper you would switch feet mid corner to...
So over the last few weeks I've been putting this into practice, first in the i3 as its easier being an auto then once confident enough took it to the derv daily, really getting the hang of it now coupled with heal & toeing but there’s only so much you can push it on the road without it being...
Just keep it now mate, get an eBay half cage and anchor it down properly, strip it to bare metal and spend the rest on suspension, brakes, tyres and track days...
I've got a pair just come off my FF with bump stops, nuts etc... 1 is Renault OE, 1 is gas (OE spec) you can have for £10 + postage. Worked fine on mine and look quite new TBH just refreshed all my suspension so surplus to requirements, PM me if interested.
I've done a track day with more rear bias than normal (abs disabled) and had no real issues with a lose rear end, the rears would lock up though. Was you trail braking hard into corners?
As above never come across a 197 that couldn't be despatched easily enough on track. As you mentioned the 197 is heavier and even with the extra grunt will not be any quicker than the 1*2. The 197 will however feel better on the road as the 1*2 is awful IMO. How many track days would you do a...
I'd have these but I'm stock piling R888's at the minute and have no room left to store...
