Did I really need MP215? Definitely not, but given both packages are developed with Ford's involvement, it makes the car as good as it could be while retaining as much of the car's original drivability and reliability as possible.
It is a lot of money, granted, but consider that even paying...
I guess having run one of their upgrades for the last 20k and knowing how good it is and feels that I'm a sucker for their marketing.
Someone had a rant on Facebook about exactly this, too much dollar, not enough poke, needing all the additional hardware for the complete upgrade, and no...
I'm warming to this already. If these graphs are anything to go by and past performance would suggest that they are, it may be a worthwhile modification considering I still have 67,000 miles to go in mine...although the lack of warranty does smart a bit.
The headline peak gain isn't that...
That's exactly right, but as an enthusiast, I was prepared to give RenaultSport the benefit of the doubt and blindly order even though reports and thoughts up to that point were that it wasn't quite the car we were all hoping for.
They had a chance and they let me go. I gave Ford a chance and...
Given what I posted do you think I should have had to?
I was a RenaultSport enthusiast who expressed a genuine wish to place an order with my local dealer.
Given the farce that was the launch up to that point it was enough to make me consider my money might be better spent elsewhere which as...
Today Mountune released their next power upgrade kit;
Revealed exclusively at the Cars and Coffee event today in Essex is the mountune MR230 upgrade for the mk7 Fiesta ST.
As the name suggests, the MR230 upgrade kit delivers a performance uplift to 230PS at 5500rpm with 340Nm of torque...
The day order books opened for the EDC 200 I emailed the Portsmouth dealership saying I'd like to come in and talk about placing an order, when could we arrange it, left him my mobile number. The sales manager responded saying I must be mistaken, where did I get that info from, they couldn't...

They're sending the Mercedes V8 F1 car round in a hot lap challenge against two AMG Mercs at 12:40, that'll be most of their annual noise allowance used up in 10 minutes flat LOL.
Great weather for it today, wish I could have been there but family commitments...
To me it's quite simple, the EDC 200 in Renault's eyes is a resounding success, it's sold more than what came before it over a comparable timescale, it's what the masses wanted and what Renault wanted and needed, more volume.
This does of course only apply to the masses outside of the UK...
Agreed!
I was giving genuine serious thought to replacing my current Bridgestone RE050s with something track orientated when they come up for renewal in a few k miles, but I've come to realise that getting a car moving about is far more fun than being able to say I beat my previous best lap by...
If yours is a phase 2 172 and is not a 172 Cup its base kerb weight wet is 1,110 kgs. The phase 1 was 1,035 kgs so I suspect Renault just didn't update the user manual.
As for the accuracy of Torque there's far to many unquantifiable variables at play. You'll probably get a more accurate figure...
That's good to hear. The real test is if they let serious prospective buyers drive it without laying down a cash deposit first. Fingers crossed they do. If not, they've learned nothing.
I don't get the gearbox fragility concerns. It's a Getrag unit, I thought they were pretty darn good.
41k eh Steve? Good work! I'm just about to drift past 33k in my ST.
Yeah, agreed, when block changing it is a PITA. I'd rather it didn't do it at all and they let the revs drop a little quicker but it's not the end of the world.
It does indeed! Holds the revs at the right level for 1-2 seconds...took me a while to get used to it but I don't think about it now. I find the rev decay a bit slow so making use of it does slow my shifts down and they're nice and smooth.
Mine was left plugged in when I had my neck operation in early January, I didn't drive my car for four weeks.
No issues at all when I came to brave driving it for the first time.
I see what you're saying...but, until just over 2 years ago a global multitude of Apple iPhone users swore blind and absolutely refused to accept that you needed anything more on a phone than a 3.5 inch screen. Do they think that now? Who'd be happy going back to a postage stamp of a screen?
If...
I can see why we'll all have these in the future.
Why would I want to dig my phone out of my pocket to read and respond to a text or to check an appointment or directions when it's available immediately on my wrist?
Once the technology improves, I'll have one...just not an Apple one as...
