No problem - I felt like being useful for a change
£300 will get you a full exhaust plus decat (I know what I'd rather have ;))
The best thing you can do on these cars and if you search you will find pics is to move the battery to the boot (easy job really)
Then get a straight pipe running...
Personally after reading many and many of pages of information on flow charateristics and the flow properties of different materials I think in future I'll just be sticking with a standard paper filter.
1. For best filtration (keeps engine wear to a minimum/prolongs life)
2. Greater surface...
once the head is off it will be easy to remove the thread as its not being held by anything
Iv removed a very tight bolt with my finger once the head is removed
Okay I agree rip out the headlight, wuld make driving "interesting" to say the least in the dark ;)
Although would have thought an open filter by the headlight rather than an enclosed one would be better as there will only be cold air plus more surface area on the filter
just use a pair of your mothers tights on the butterfly ;)
Think we can all agree that the best setup is to relocate the battery to the boot and have a straight pipe with an open filter over by the headlight
Yes you have a point and i suppose we all prioritise where out money goes. But spending £6000 on a clio seems ridiculous especially with the amount of problems you'd have with it. Bit unfair to tell him to go for it when the week after it needs a new clutch or gearbox or something, You'd be...
Tar remover is a waste of time it wont touch it, Unfortuntely the only route is superglue remover or acetone of some kind but be carful on the paintwork
You cant really pick it off as the pait will come off with it.
Maybe a wet-sand and polish if your careful have you got a pic?
Oh god! Come on people. Why not sell clio 7k + 6k buy a faster car (skyline etc...) which doesnt need a weekly engine rebuild...
Fine if you have plenty of money
When i went to my local they said Theyd have to order then in, me and the guy laughed about it.
There like 1.50 or something if you msearch for the part numbers...
He never phoned back to say he got them in though lol
**UPDATE**
Right well after some more digging the guys at poole have NEVER had to change the engine on a 1*2 due to worn piston rings.
After a compression test today I got approx 155-160psi each cylinder
Valve stem seals anyone??
