Knocking from rear - new coilovers

Adjusters were set equal. I'll go double check the top of the shocks, but I did them up tight.

Knocking from rear - new coilovers

I've seen various threads about the MK2's, but my MK3 now with AP coilovers, is knocking at low speeds. Noise is coming from the rear. I noticed the springs for the rears are very short. The adjuster is set at halfway at present, so my ride height isn't drastically low. Untitled by...

    JP's Mk3 Dci 86

Got lows! Coilovers fitted earlier, and alignment now done. Just need it to settle and next weekend I'll check the measurements on the height out. Won't be going much lower though than this. Maybe.... Will also be fitting my new studs and Petrol Chrome Tuner nuts. Untitled by...

Ap coilovers Mk3 - rear washer

Hey Guys, So is it both of these that are drilled out? Anyone with a Mk3 who can help? IMAG0578 by johnpape83, on Flickr

Looks a nice example. Might need to put your photos on Photobucket/ Flickr though, as not everyone might have access to see them on Facebook.

    French Car Show 2013

Will see if I can make this then. Be nice to put some faces to names, and maybe see a bit of the track action.

    Coilovers - setting up

Ok, that makes sense! Will measure up the threads and see that drop I get. I think as standard these coilovers are 30-90mm on the front, and 25-75 on the rear.

    Coilovers - setting up

LOL! I'll be going lower dude, but not that low. I still have a steep driveway to navigate, and the roads round here are a mess. Plus I'm pretty sure slamming the shocks will shorten their life dramatically. BTW, another stupid question: When people say I've got a 60mm drop, etc. How do they...

    Black dCi...

Hey Kelly. With regards to alloys, it's all about personal preference. Have a look through the threads on here though and you'll find loads of different ones! Are you planning to lower the car at all? Don't forget to check out http://www.cliodci.net too. :)

    Coilovers - setting up

No, I bought genuine ones through Adam. Stupid MK3's have side-specific ones too. Left and Right!

Mk3 Clio Dynamique S Project - midlands - coilovered - MASSIVELY PIC HEAVY!

See! Bloody headlights are a nightmare on these MK3's. Had to take the bumper off mine too because my massive man hands couldn't change a bulb on the passenger side.

I thought so. Thanks for clarifying James!

    Coilovers - setting up

So I've got myself some AP's now. Top mounts arrived, and I've been putting them together. Now, stupid question time. How far down should the top mount nut go? I've tightened both sides up so there is about 5-6mm of thread showing out the top. Does it need tightening down all the way down the...

SORN for 6 months - practical considerations?

It's not a car, but with the bike, I fire it up every couple of weeks, keep it under cover (luckily I have a garage too for it), move it about to stop it being sat on the same spot on the tyres for so long (keep them pumped up too), and that's it. Battery hasn't even needed to be left on...

    French Car Show 2013

Lol! I don't think I'd have the talent, just the hope that the diesel smoke emitted would blind the others and lead me to victory! (Off topic - got a text today to say delivery is tomorrow, so thanks again :) ) Might pop down to this then. It's not far at all, and considering I miss CSS this...

So different fuel pump as well? Again, I'm guessing for increased flow rate?

    Stupid question time! DCI's...

Cool. Just toying with ideas that will probably never come to fruition! :D A remap on the 86bhp model I've got should see it kick out about 105-110bhp, with torque going from 200nm to 240nm. Just had a quick tot-up: 2nd hand injectors: £200 a set Ultrasonic cleaning for injectors: £100 a set...

    Stupid question time! DCI's...

Interesting. I suspect though it wouldn't be as easy as bolting on the turbo and bigger injectors though and expecting the same output. For example, getting a 106 turbo and injectors and fitting them to the 86bhp engine.

    How to polish alloys

If they're bad, I would suspect you'll need to get a wire brush attachment for your rotary tool to get them off, then polish from scratch. So to speak!

    Stupid question time! DCI's...

I'm guessing an increased flow rate?

    How to polish alloys

That'll be from road salt and grime. Clean them down, and then get to work polishing. You'll need an angle grinder/ drill with polishing mops and compound. Lots of how to guides on the net - do a quick google. ;)

    Stupid question time! DCI's...

So, I like to think I have some mechanical knowledge. The 1.5 DCI's, specifically the Mk3. Obviously there are 3 variants. The 68bhp, the 86bhp and the 106bhp. What is it that creates the power difference between them? I would assume turbo first of all, but is the Engine Management different...

    French Car Show 2013

I'm more of a biker than a car man to be honest, but I've made an effort with this club. I did ClioSport last year as a brand new member and Clio owner. I moreso go to have a laugh and meet people. Probably won't track my car though! LOL.

Anyone have or ever fitted Nankang NS-II ultrasports?

Not had a problem in 4000 miles with them so far. As I said earlier in the thread though, I'm more of a cruiser. I don't go hooning round roundabouts, or seeing how fast I can get through the twisties. I'm no slouch, but I'm driving a 86bhp 1.5 DCi. Never had a problem stopping in the wet or...
