They cna be quite sensetive there are tolerances for the sensor. so long as your sensors ok and the teeeth are close enough to the sensor (1mm +-.25 from memoery can check) and reasonably wide you'll be fine
Rust on the rar arches and boot are the big issues although sills can be bad depends the care the cars had.

Much like any other car similar car jusyt remember that engine realy fills the bay and can make some jobs diffiuclt. The only bitsd which aare more expensive are some of the unique bit but there still not that bad.

Cheap pads can be rubish but there are some which are almost the same as standard but if you glaze any pads they can be rubish

Stock setup is very very good from memoery it was better at 100mph to 0 than a 911 turbo fo the day (when the 172 came out and the 182 share the same brakes)
The weekness on the brakes is the 182 wheel they don't let the brakes cool well.
You have to understand dealers get agreement from RUK to do work and send the part (not always) off afterwards to get them checked to see why they failed. FI you go melt the heat shield the dealer won't do the work if the exhaust caused it as they know when they send the damaged heat shield off...

It just needs a ABS speedo input to know how much assist to give.
Do a search I wrote a guide a while back (years ago) saying what wirres etc on the unit you need and how to wire it with regards using it in a transplant. (Either electric PAS in a 2.0 or a 1.2 with a 2.0 engine fitted.
If the car jump starts then it will be the starter, hit it with a hammer if jump starting works can shock them sometimes to work. Don't hit it if a jump start doesn't work though.
