Right in every way, colour, the fact the 200 has really grown on me, the engine spec.... Perfect. If I wasn't PCP'd this would have been the route I would have gone.
I think it's just the thicker head gasket that's the only difference as far as I can read (Megane 225) would it be that much lower with just the gasket?
Haha cool, I only mentioned it as my supercharged Clio was down on power. Went back to basics and found out the timing was out so I had Alex sort it amongst others. Made a big difference when I had the map tweaked, much better torque low down and more power.
£200 difference, admittedly to some that's a lot of money but to be fair what you can do with the Adaptronic as an ECU. I can't sell it it to its full potential but the beauty of it is adding to it in so many ways.
ED are about an hour away, EFI did the whole lot in the supercharged Clio as it...
The cheapest Adaptronic from EFI Parts is about £630 then it needs wiring into the loom and the car mapped. I paid about £1100 for everything above as it came as a complete drive in drive out package price when I supercharged my 182 Clio. It's an expensive outlay but what you get back is a...
Thanks for arranging the meet up, it was nice to see a few people there. Also good to go out in the Trophy and the other 200 EDC. Hopefully there will be more meet ups there throughout the year.
Adaptronic ECU, Chris at EFI knows these the best. Mileage shouldn't come into it, I drove to and from EFI in a day from Essex to have my old supercharged Clio map tweaked.
Nice to see a neat phase one 172 turbo'd
I imagine the Sadev gearbox being the biggest difference, coupled with slicks that's where the lap times are the quicker. Obviously a few ingredients like chassis, 4 pots, rollcage, suspension play their part making the Cup racer but imagine the Sadev making the single most difference to that car.
I might be wrong but maybe people don't look into financing the car by borrowing the money from a bank. With the dealers you get the choice of outright finance or the PCP deal which initially lowers the monthly payments but have that balloon payment at the end. New cars are a better interest...
To think you can pick them up for about 10k now, there was a white Cup selling privately for that price when I was looking. It really is a lot of car with the tech for that money, then add in the cost of a map you really do have good car on your hands.
And then with the Renault 4 warranty when they came out in 2013 your hands are tied. I do believe you'll slowly start to see this happening with these from now on and especially next year when the warranties run out.
Also it couldn't overshadow the Megane 250 in power
Genuinely surprised me to see the bhp figure, book torque figure says 177ft/lbs. Although it's close it's down again. You'd think with the Mk4 they would have come with the mapped figures as standard or have the torque similar to the 226bhp. When you look at the Cooper Works with 228bhp and a...
Start figure 189bhp - 172ft/lbs torque
Mapped result 226bhp - 250ft/lbs torque
Had the ITG filter fitted too.
So much better now with that big hike in torque.
