I'd been looking through your trader forum but didn't find much in the way of product reviews. Forgetting which pads you make most on (just pulling your leg of course ;)), do you get good feedback on a particular pad, or pads, being a good compromise between track and road?
The standard Brembo pads for the 197 calipers seem pretty cheap at £39 and I'd imagine are pretty well up to the job but is it really worth spending more on Mintex, CL, Ferodo or any others.
Would be interested to hear anyone else's experience. Car is mainly for road but will see a few track...
Oh and a second question that didn't appear to be answered was, if I don't want cruise buttons I presume I can just buy a non-RenaultSport steering wheel airbag?
As a few have done before, I'm looking to change my melted 172 steering wheel to a 200 wheel. I've used the search function, and read over 10 threads on this, but not a single one has the specs for the washer size that's required to stop it rubbing. Does anyone know this, or alternatively is a...
Just depends whether you want the extra spec or not. The wife has a 182 Cup because climate control confuses her :banghead: and it's got the half leather seats fitted. It was the right car and wasn't worth holding out for a a cup-packed 182.
Well over the last couple of days I've managed to get a few bits sorted out on the 172. First up was the exhaust, it was sounding dreadful to put it bluntly. I went across to a reasonably well know Ford specialist who did some custom work on it. They'll likely be doing the belts as well, the...
Wouldn't bother me, at least you know how it's been treated and that it'll have been looked after mechanically by Renault. Some people would drive harder in their own cars with less mechanical sympathy and it might not get looked after the same.
Looks a nice car, wasn't always a fan of AG but...
Yeah called them. Try specialist insurers if it's more than an air filter, lowered or an exhaust. I've always found them better to deal with and cheaper. Try companies like Brentacre, Greenlight, Adrian Flux etc.
Well after a spirited drive a couple of nights ago the exhaust centre box has pretty much bitten the dust, it's opened up a bit and sounds terrible. Tomorrow will be finding somewhere local that can crack some welding gear out and replace the box or put a straight pipe in.
I also ordered a...
I've picked up a 182 Cup with only 55k miles on and also a 172 with 122k miles on in the last few weeks. Before now I'd have never bought a car with such high miles but if they're looked after it doesn't matter. The 182's a nicer car overall but the engine is definitely stronger on the 172. I...
Yeah the lack of weight in the Clio is evident. Last time out at Oulton I just couldn't shake off a couple of 200's. Walked away in a straight line but had to brake much earlier and they carried a little more speed in the corners.
Figures as the Glanza comes past a lot nowadays. Shame the LY got sold, really liked that car.
The ST was awesome in a straight line, just struggled on track after 4-5 laps. It was too quick for the brakes and I didn't have a spare £1,200 for 8 pots. Ended up selling it to fund some work on the...
