I've been questioning the same thing for mine on a similar budget. Stuck between Bilsteins and the Gaz Golds. Leaning towards Bilsteins for mine since mine mainly sees the road.
For you and mainly track work I'd probably go for either the BC's or Gaz Golds as above.
Small update. Few small things to make it how it should have been in the first place.
As I mention below the recent updates are:
Replaced starter motor with used Bosch starter
And with the help of @JamesBryan:
Replaced O/S front wing with used one
Replaced bonnet with used one
Replaced...
Would definitely consider one of these as my next car. Love them.
I'd definitely look into springs with that arch gap, do Cooksport do any for Mk3 Meganes?
@Irfan came on our NW drive in his the other week, really similar spec. Sounded absolutely incredible, no idea if the standard exhaust is much tamer, but still, lovely bit of kit!
Much classier than the two a penny Golf Rs.
I use a Renault Specialist - Gary Burnett in Warrington. Going later this week actually for a sodding starter motor (d*ckhead previous owner's amateur mechanics rearing their head).
Not used Gary for a cambelt but he has the Renault timing tools of course being a Renault Specialist.
Basically teamed up with Gumtree to promote their Motor section, budget of £5k to buy a car, giving it away through his channel and Twitter basically. People have to tweet something they've bought on Gumtree with the story behind it with the hashtag.
Glad he respected and liked the car though...
Just spotted this, apparently collected from Newcastle.
Noticed the usual CS mods on it; the new RS badge, the re-trim with the Trophy Embroidery.
Awaiting the 'I hate this guy/I hate these YouTubers' comments 😂
Have you checked the connections etc? My 1.2 had this problem and I just replaced the bulb holder on the back because one of the connections was corroded.
Yeah definitely steam then mate, they all do it, collects in the back boxes so when it starts to heat up it evaporates, plus just running richer on startup cold map.
If the head gasket had gone you can tell by if there's any milky type stuff under the oil cap.
Yeah anything else a Renault...
If you're on here you definitely spotted me, next to eachother the whole way down.
Car looked awesome! Great stance, love that colour too, not seen a 200 in nimbus for years!
I use Tesco's 99 Ron almost exclusively. I definitely feel a difference between that and regular fuel when I've been caught out and had to go to a cheapo place. Feels perkier.
Ultimately, it's not a lot of difference money wise, comes down to how much of a cheapskate you are.
Presumably the smoke will be steam unless the smoke was blue?
Petrol smell, is it decatted? In which case it'll be that.
Lack of go, could be timed up wrong, maybe get somebody to check the timing? As well as the things mentioned above.
Shift light is just a feature of 182s, don't think the...

Not sure what all this faffing with fitting the KTEC is all about, mine went on no problems.
Sure it's a tight fit but some after some persuasion it went straight on, only took me 5 minutes.
I've got a Karcher K2, does the job.
I've heard people buy Nilfisk because they use a metal pump as opposed to the plastic pumps in Karchers that can crack, or something like that?
