Cheers mate! Just sorting the list of niggles still at the moment really.
Cheers! Not seen yours in person yet actually, have to let me know when you're next on track or something!
Can you not swap them round and have the Conti's on the front? Then again you probably want a good bit of tread after your experiences with aquaplaning to be fair, even just for peace of mind.
What's it got on the back? Providing they're decent I'd just get the same again for the sake of having matching rubber unless you're going to replace all four?
Yeah 195. Really can't look any further for the price on 16"s.
Yeah 15"s is the way to go on these, looks better once lowered, cheaper...
Yeah was just our simple mistake really, no harm done, all good now. And yeah no worries bud!
Yeah we did buzz it with the gun but it would have snapped anyway it was so corroded, the ones under the bungs came straight off no issues. As you say a new slider is so cheap it doesn't really matter...
So, another very generic update as has been seen a million times here before, however I'll post anyway for the sake of having a diary of the work on the car.
Updates are as follows:
New Renault N/S front wheel bearing
Replaced N/S lower ball joint
Replaced rear wiper motor
Cleaned throttle...
Have a look up the thread mate, I gave my thoughts up there.
Pushed on with these and they're great; predictable, enough grip, don't feel soft or wallowy. Nothing like the AD08R's I had on my 1.2 but they're not meant to compete with those, these are a great sporty road tyre.
Got some for you today mate. I think they look great, chunkier than a normal road tyre, more squared edges like the more serious tyres, tread pattern looks quite purposeful and aggressive too. I was surprised when mine went on how good they looked for very much a road tyre, look like a sort of...
Yeah, all the more reason to be careful with mechanics who aren't going to rip you off man.
Diagnostics machine first, should give him a fault code corresponding to what the issue is, don't let him just try and troubleshoot at random unless the code reader shows nothing (but it probably will...
Yeah in that case could be one of the above I mentioned, worth mentioning to this mechanic. Should show up when they plug a diagnostics fault code reader in.
Looks like an electrical problem with that warning light, sending the car into limp mode. Mine did it a couple of weeks back and the day after my starter motor broke so clearly it was showing there was an electrical problem with that.
I'm sure other people on here will be better to answer this...
Cheers mate, just in a stage of sorting out the list of niggles so it's all good then more exiting stuff can be done.
Haha yeah, tbh I often forget to take pics of what I'm doing at all, not used to this project thread malarky!
Looks good mate. Best mod you can do is tyres on a 1.2 IMO, stuck some good rubber on mine and had some great fun in the bends since straight line fun was out of the question.
Is your sunroof sealed too? Mine leaked which was a bit of a b**ch, tried to seal it but didn't work long term.
Was your previous car a Rolls Royce? A Scorpion cat-back with centre silencer and cat in place is too loud?
In fairness, those Scorpion SRN019's are renowned for being too boomy, I'd swap it for an RS192 if I were you, especially for less boom.
If you want more rasp and less boom then removing...
Minus a few of the bad bwoiii mods and stickers it would look epic from a purposeful track toy POV.
Some guy on the Track Time group on Facebook has one that looks similar, with a BTCC bodykit, similar power, rapid on track.
Lovely bit of kit that. A mate of mine has one as his daily carry around sort of camera.
You'll get much more from the images if you edit them too, digital images as shot are always a little underwhelming tone wise no matter what you use.
