Pic Request: Clio On BC Coilovers

Looks good, what's your opinion of them? What spring rates are yours too? Seems they're still quite new to Clios and not many people have experience of them so will be interesting to hear.

Pic Request: Clio On BC Coilovers

As per the title. Planning on purchasing some of these soon, just curious to see what height you can get with them, and pics of the lowest they'll go would be interesting to see. Not going for absolute lows but looks are a consideration so it would be good to see how much adjustablility I'd have...

Can I clean the throttle body in situ? - 2004 1.2 Clio Dynamique

Yeah dude, literally just the 4 bolts in each corner and then unplug the sensor, really easy!

Can I clean the throttle body in situ? - 2004 1.2 Clio Dynamique

You could clean it in place yeah, just makes it more difficult for the sake of 4 bolts holding it on.

    What have you ordered? *Detailing*

Lol that's what you got on your hand when you touched my tyre the other week haha!

    Resonated vs non resonated

You'll get the rasp you want from the non-res centre section. I have a Milltek (so 2.5") with non-res centre section and it's really raspy, but obviously still a lovely tone on the throttle. Those Scorpion SRN019's like you have are renowned for drone, my brother had one on his 182 years ago...

Awesome! Do like these in anthracite. As you say though, needs lows immediately.

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

Yeah yeah. They have a better ride though which means they would be better for road too with the digressive valves.

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

Separate spring. I'll be getting mine from Kam Racing, if you google search BC Coilovers Clio 172/182 Kam Racing you'll find them, there are two versions, the BR and DR.

You could get two feet on that f**king pedal LOL.

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

That must go well with all of that! But that's interesting. May find somebody with coilovers they know the spring rate of and get them to take me out.

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

Cheap too, will have a think about that one then!

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

Hmm, I am tempted, Aintree looks awesome. What's the price?

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

Ah awesome, cheers for that! Looking forward to having an experiment with it when I get them on. Not sure, was playing with the idea of one at Oulton in late summer, maybe towards the end of August. Would depend if anyone I knew was game really, doing track days on your own takes half the fun...

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

Yeah will be ace for track, classic horses for courses situation really isn't it!

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

    Thoughts on wheels

That's not different in the Wirral though mate

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

Yeah fair enough, sounds great then. Not terribly bothered about it being that soft on track within reason, at least not for the moment. Will still be a damn lot stiffer than my current sportlines which I didn't have any major issues with on track.
  19. Niall

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

Ah good stuff. How was it on the road?

    Thoughts on wheels

Don't understand this being different for the sake of it thing. I might go out wearing clogs, trackies and a tweed jacket tomorrow just to be different too.

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

    So that'll be 336lbs @NorthloopCup.

    ESP and (probably) Serv Light

Ahh right, I'll keep an eye on it and if it does I'll give that a go.
  23. Niall

    ESP and (probably) Serv Light

I see! I did notice when I took it off that the plug that goes into it was slightly melted where it'd been taken off previously and must have been resting on the exhaust manifold. Can't remember if it was like that before we did the fluid on it, but all the connector pins are in tact so I can't...
  24. Niall

    ESP and (probably) Serv Light

Yeah if it comes back I'll give it a go. Got one on the 172 still so could even try that. Did top up the brake fluid when it originally started but we'll see, as you say the cap itself could be knackered.
  25. Niall

    ESP and (probably) Serv Light

On this, it went away the other night, came back for a little bit, then it's gone away and hasn't come back since lol. So it's off for now, just have to see if it comes back on again before I investigate further.

    Coilovers?
  27. Niall

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

Yeah I'm hoping with the dampers on hard it should be hard enough anyway really, just about having enough softness when on soft. We'll see!
  28. Niall

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

Yeah I thought it seemed like a good compromise. I'm hoping at that rate the damping should be good enough so it's not harsh, then I can turn it to max and it will be as hard as I need for track days.

    Coilover Spring Rates (Fast Road/Track)

Looking to buy some BC DR series coilovers at the end of the month, and I'm not sure what spring rates to go for. BC offer custom spring rates free of charge so it's just a case of meeting my needs. I've been told these new DR series BC's are a lot more compliant and comfortable too, then of...
