its a bit of a pain thoguht to be fair took me and my old man about 2 hours of fiddling on his old laguna. without breaking anything either!! Just dont let the bonnet drop again.
Haha nah its alll good! Iv seen you around once but that was some time ago. Il say hello if i see you around. Apperently we look similar :s lol
A little birdie told me you may be selling your exhaust soon :) If you are then theres a lad around your area that may well be interested ;)
I was gunna change the plugs at the 36k service i didnt realise that they could last to 72k.. I gave them a wire brushing and visually they look fine. It does ideally need some new leads but as and when really. The coilpack i think is okay. The only reason i could tell it was the leads is...
doubt youl find any at a scrappy there quite a unique size (well no unique sorry uncommon is a better word) i need some new ones soon too i dunno what those mobile fitters are like
FULL POWER RESTORED :D
taped up all the HT leads with electrical tape which has done the trick. Took it for as blip and its all sorted running as good as it was before
Now to fix it properly im gunna need some new leads ideally... Whats the going rate these days?
ps will electrical tape...
Closer inspection plug 1 or 2 are arcing(shorting) on the body somewhere i can hear it tap tap tap tap... Gunna put some insulating tape over the leads to see if this works as a temporary measure to confirm that it is the leads! will let you all know
One of the plugs was noticable darker than the other 3 so im sure the mixture isnt getting ignited
It has never missfired before and just started doing it now, so yes i think we can narrow it down to either Plugs, Wires, or coilpack, but which one!?
Done some more investigation...
I have wire brushed all four plugs and took it for a blast - seems to have made a difference!! but when the car exceeds 3500-4000 oh gawd its back again EML starts flashing but stops when the engine speed goes down. Maybe a faulty plug im not sure i have held...
Anyone got the firing order for a 182? is it
The marker numbers on the leads/coilpack: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
The actual firing order: 1 - 3 - 4 - 2
Thanks
I think its the cylinder that is nearest to the battery that isnt igniting the mix as the plug was greasy as opposed...
Do you think itl be lambda related though if its doing it all the time? its doing it on and off very first then it starts its popping and banging regime. shall i do the old unplug a wire and see if it makes a difference jobby?
