No airbags = service light ;)
  2. Sir_Dave

Modifying 172 cup to accept 182 trophy dampers ...what do I need?

At a guess, hubs, driveshafts & wishbones? Not entirely sure ......

    Mileage on a 172/182

Done about 2k miles on track in the past 12 months lol .. Mileage is just a number, its the maintenance & love that the car receives that is important :) I <3 my Trophy.

    9k for a trophy

Exactly. In 2004, i was offered an E30 M3 for £8k (normal price at the time), but as i didnt fancy LHD, i bought a 328i Sport instead. So one of my mates bought the car, used it for a bit, then stuck it in his parents barn for a few years. Roll forwards to 2011 & he is buying a house, so puts...

    9k for a trophy

Im sorry, perhaps im missing the bit of the ad that says 'Cat C', but just out of interest, why would you not spend £9k on that? Serious question by the way, im intrigued.

    9k for a trophy

I'd buy that all day long. 9 grand, for what is essentially a 'new' version of one of the best hot hatches ever, that they dont make anymore. In fact, if i hadnt just bought the 330, id probably have it, just so that i could say i had the highest mileage Trophy, & the lowest. Utter bargain.

    Soon to be supercharged.

I loved your Connect, so will subscribe to this as well :D My type of tuning tbh, who cares what it looks like, as long as its ruddy fast ...

    good coilovers?

Yeah, they're the ones, cheaper from Motorsportworld though iirc. Dont fit cup packed 182's remember!!
  12. Sir_Dave

Missed my 330, so i bought another ...

Would probably be quite nice to watch the breakfast news whilst sat in the morning M3 traffic jam tbh ... But no, probably not, more likely to browse CS instead ;) (30 seconds onwards)
  13. Sir_Dave

    good coilovers?

I do not understand why everyone wants coilovers tbh. Koni dampers + Sportlines = one of the best clio setups out there.
  14. Sir_Dave

    good coilovers?

Non-adjustable cheapo/hard dampers (on the HighSports) vs. fully adjustable, & very good Koni dampers (KonigSports) Well worth the extra imho!!!
  15. Sir_Dave

Missed my 330, so i bought another ...

Nah, they do it for a few other Audis & Mercs as well :)
  16. Sir_Dave

Missed my 330, so i bought another ...

:o I want want want: Not sure im going to bother waiting for the Android version - only affects the Nav side of things anyway, so will probably order one when i get back from my hols ... depending on how much of my £££'s Sarah spends of course
  17. Sir_Dave

£285 to spend on my rb 182??

    Trackday
  18. Sir_Dave

Missed my 330, so i bought another ...

lol, couldnt agree more. Turned up to work in it on Monday and the new guy at work was like 'wow, how do you manage to buy so many nice cars-you must be minted!!'. Little does he realise that the '11 plate Fiesta he just bought is probably worth considerably more than both my 330 & Trophy...

    R888s for road?

I dont get why people have such issues with T1R's lol ... Perhaps i am the only person on the forum with decent throttle control?
  20. Sir_Dave

    My Finished 172 Rep Project!

So its not finished then lol ... Looks decent enough so far, desperately needs some 172 wheels/turinis though
  21. Sir_Dave

    R888s for road?

To be honest, if you drive like that, you dont need 888's, you need to remove the lead from your feet ;)
  22. Sir_Dave

    good coilovers?

So your more interested in looks then, rather than trackday handling? Lows does not necessarily mean better handly, far from it in fact. Whiteline ARB is a rear anti roll bar, helps to the stiffen up the rear of the car, which is naturally quite soft as standard, helps reduce on the limit...
  23. Sir_Dave

    good coilovers?

Get something decent 2nd hand, like FK KonigSports. If you want brand new, Koni's & Sportlines is a very good combo. To be fair, on track, standard suspension & a whiteline ARB will be better than some cheap ar5e coilovers imho.
  24. Sir_Dave

    Seems cheap enough

Bargain. Not entirely sure why it instantly needs coilovers, but meh ...

Should I carry on with the Clio?

Just get some tuition phil, even 15 mins at the next track day will make a world of difference :)

Tomorrow = my last game for a month :( 1. Dave
  28. Sir_Dave

No longer doing track days - what pads to use?

I'd just use DS2500's tbh, would rather pay a little extra & know i can really lean on them if required. Brakes + tyres = something i never skimp on.
  29. Sir_Dave

Missed my 330, so i bought another ...

Only two :o just need to sell the 320d now ...
