Random question which I'm sure is on Google but I prefer to ask you chaps. The jet wash on sealant like Polar Seal. Can it be hosed off or does it definitely need to be jet washed?
I still haven't found a better wheel cleaner than Meguiars Ultimate wheel cleaner. Tried Geo Gel from EZ and i really don't rate it. Does an OK job but still requires tonnes of agitation.
Has anyone tried Infinity Wax Synergy QD? I know @gally loves the original QD of thiers but the 'ceramic' style appeals to me for longjevity as I dont get much time for cleaning anymore.
There are FOREVER deals on. It's the kind of business marketing I hate. However. When some specific deals come round it can be considered quite good value. The fallout remover I got was 5L for about £25 delivered. I couldnt grumble and it does a half decent job.
The deal they have coming up is...
Thoughts on the EZ Car Care stuff? Joined their fb group and it's been mostly full of people kicking off about lead times during corona. However, they have a 3x 5L deal rumoured to drop and wondered what peoples thoughts are? I've tried their reigning iron (fallout) and it seems to have done...
After a bit of advice. You might remember I polished the car a few weeks back and then used a nice wax with some gtechniq QD as recommended by Gally. I've since washed the car a few times (lockdown time wasting) and used autoglym polar seal. However, the dilemma comes in that living by the sea...
Impressed by the C2V3 I applied over the Harly wax. Plenty of dust and a couple of bird missiles nearly all slipped off with the short rain we had earlier. Hope its durable!
I probably should have said, my biggest paranoia when it comes to these 'interim' washes is swirls. I've got some megs waterless wash which I'm not going near any more unless urgent. So I'd probably just go thr extra step of foaming and then as you've said above. Cheers!
What's everyones view on that half way house where your car doesnt require a full wash but could do with a quick spritz? What do you do? Snow foam, blast off then dry? With more time on our hands, it's nice to keep the car looking top but dont need to go whole hog on it.
(Very quickly as now gally has given up the ghost) I noticed yours when you first made a post about buying it and noticed all the M parts. Someone really threw their wallet at bmw 😂. Very jelly. Looks epic.
No! Got it used a few weeks ago. The spec is all that I wanted besides adaptive suspension but tbh I dont miss it. Pro nav, HK, auto and that was mostly it. I wont waffle on too much here as this is meant to be a detailing chat 😂
Your reply didnt come through but I gather you said it looks bang on. 😂.
Thanks mate. I should probably thank all of you that helped and answered my dumb questions. Satisfying work this!
Well. Hopefully the pictures speak for themselves. 4 (probably 5) days of hard work. Gotta say, I'm chuffed. It's not perfect but I wasnt chasing perfection.
I used some meguiars glass cleaner and then sealant so I'll see how that goes. Gtechniq C2V3 applied all over Harly Wax. Its come up...
Not shifting it as its underneath the wax. Kinda kicking myself that I didnt go over it with some water mark remover before waxing. Oh well! You live and learn. Pics below 😈
Yeah I've got meguiars ultimate polish but tbh I dont think it's necessary. I'm using quite light pads anyway and it doesnt appear to be too hazy. If this lockdown continues for ages, I'll strip it back and polish it but for now, I'm done 😂
I've tried the meguiars one. Smells really nice but again doesnt last. Think I got 2 weeks out of it and it was gone. Also not exactly cheap at 14 quid or so
Just finished cutting the whole car. Very pleased with the outcome. Not perfection but it's a huge improvement. Looks a bit dusty etc. Wash, dry and then wax?
