lol, I know what its like to fiddle about with photos for ages, and then miss something major like that :)
I find it helps sometimes to leave the photo alone, go away for a couple of hours, and when you return, you're sort of looking at it with 'fresh' eyes (if you know what I mean!)
You...
Thats better!
Although on that shot, I take it the engine is off looking at the dials. Cant you photoshop the dials from the last shot in?
EDIT: Just noticed the fuel warning light, so it is on, but its started from cold and moving VERY slowly?
Nice shot!
Personally, I would prefer the shot we you are not looking at the camera, I feel the shot looks to 'set up', and not a photo taken whilst you are driving, if you get me :)
Depends on what I feel needs doing. The rig shots obviously take a lot of time to remove the rig etc.
For the statics, I'll probably spend about 15mins each. That'll usually involve tidying the cars up, adjusting the levels, and in the case of bombers car, making the car silver and not the...
Hey m8,
Most of the 'moodyness' is made in post processing. One of the things you can do is simply bump up the contrast a bit, but I do a bit more than that as well :)
The other thing that might be making it look moody too is that I darken everything APART from the car slightly, just so it...
Glad you like it :)
Yeh I do have a few more, will get them up by tonight.
Im afraid the photo at the docks wont really work, so we might have to revisit that sometime :)
Thanks for the comments, especially Paul - it's good to know all the faffing about setting up shots is worth it in the end!
Dan, I was experimenting with one of your rig shots, and I thought this looked kinda cool!
Thanks again guys, much appreciated!
Just finished this one:
Not too sure about it, I think the idea is there, but I dont think I executed it quite right, and the lighting on the car is not very good either (sorry Dave!!)
Thanks,
Giraffe - The two main lenses I use for automotive shots like these are a Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8, and a Nikkor 12-24mm f/4 lens for the rig shots :)
Making a rig - it depends on what type of one you want. You can buy a complete kit for about $800, but you can make the same thing for...
FPMSL! I couldnt believe you said that!
Ive got power again, and Im having a look at that photo, tbh Im not sure if I can do anything with it, but I'll have a go none the less.
And I'll have a go at your 'engine' photo too :)
Thanks guys, it's probably going to be a while until I get any more up. I've been havin power cuts all day, currently in one atm, am writing this from my phone :(
LOL! Yeh that was quite amusing!
I'll have a couple more of your car Dan, and im still working on the one we took in the docks, I have my doubt if I can make that work - I think I rushed it too much.
Ummm....well I ALWAYS use a tripod (although I forgot it in the last photoshoot....Do'h!)...
Custom made :)
Its not too hard if you know what you need, Im just redesigning mine at the moment, so it should be ready in a couple of weeks, it should be MUCH better :)
Thanks
Last night myself, bomber and Quade (and bro) went on another photoshoot, nothing too serious, just a bit of a laugh and to scout some good locations.
The main area we were messing about in was a multi-storey car park, mainly because the weather was awful, so if it rained (which it did often!)...
Gloss black looks awesome!
DONT get matt black, it will loook kak on those alloys, and I know because I was talked out of it by the people who refurbed mine (same alloys).
Gloss black with matching badges etc would look the tits imo!
is this the ktec ultra we are talking about?
ie. this: http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=2752
I might be looking at getting one of these, so I'll keep an eye on this thread :)
