The gains would be similar on the 182 yes, its the same manifold.
I can rework a manifold prior to bringing the car in yes, best if you can supply one as i cant always gaurantee i will have one in stock.
Remap is available via the use of a piggy back SMT6...
you will need the dizzy housing machined out, but thats super easy.
If your running the std ecu you'll have to adapt the std inlet manifold to run the std williams components and ICV and TB. The williams manifold will not bolt up to it properly and run.

even the OE springs dont 'fit' when the axle is not under the cars weight, problem with balloon type as you call it is you cant alter length or choose and change rates in a matter of a day from ordering. 2.25" are generic, cheaper and perfectly fine.
