sadly modifying the F7 16 valve engines intakes results in zero gains, they dont suffer from the same problem, they are actually too large in stock trim.
no, sorry, i cannot say that as i cannt gaurantee it.
I normally quote 5-8bhp for this sort of modification, but i had never done a back to back test on a standard car before, and i am posting the results as they are surprising even to myself.
Not all cars are equal, some will have...
sorry, people keep thinking 3bhp gains lol.
Gain was 13bhp, the environmental changes only add 3bhp to the figures, but cancels itself out as it was done for before and after runs, so the gain from the mod stays the same.
no too worried about scratches lol.
Anybody tried the new ipod video one, with 60gb?!!!???
leaning towards the nano right now, got rid of the fag packets but dont want bulgy pockets ;) lol
yup, your quite right.
I've spent over a year developing the best shape, matching steps, radiuses and runner cross secitonal area, and you'd be surprised of the difference between the early ones and the current ones. Optimal flow quantity and quality is the result of constant development...
if your going that far, i wouldnt stick with the std type inlet ideally, i fabricate new plenhams for work levels like that as the std design is, well, crap.
As some of you might remember, i ran a group buy for the inlet manifold modifications i offer.
Anyway, matt kindly paid for his own before and after RR runs as he wanted to see the gains and thought it would be of help to me since we've never done a straight before and after, it has always...
yea, but in this instance, the TB itself isnt a restriction.
Just from experience, its alot of effort for no gain. The manifold runners themselves are the restriction.
the gains on the 1.8 are larger because the head is machined worse. But mods on the 2ltr reward similar gains because the valves are larger and the capacity higher...so kinda evens them out.
ANd the pullies are a nats privates from being finished.
If your car has been sitting around for a while, the tappets will drain. When you come to start it, they will usually tap like buggery, 10 mins to an hour later and they go back to normal (depending on how gunked up they are).
Thing is, you probably ran then on the cams i sent, pumped them...
Glad it all worked out good Mark, nice having a good natter with you.
Sorry i couldnt hang round till the end, but i had to go and poke the slow ass machinist to make sure something was done before the weekend.
Would of liked to have gone out with you on the different spring rates, but i...
You'll be hard pressed to find ANY cam grinders that will offer the accuracy to run the std pullies (which themselves are inaccurate) for the money you pay. Even my cams require verniers simply because the std pullies give massively different timing figures.
The F4R gets away with it because...
