With a SLR you have the luxury of being able to buy additional lenses for different purposes.
With the TZ5, youre stuck with one 'lens'.
Much more flexible with the D40, but its a bigger camera :)
I have taken the back seats out, mainly because Im starting to going biking a lot now, so I can fit the bike in more easily.
I have noticed no real difference apart from a bit more road noise from the back, especially when the road is wet.
As my 182 has no spare wheel etc, I havent lost much...
Depending on your budget, the 18-200VR lens is an amazing bit of kit.
Its expensive, but it does everything due to its focal lengths.
Ive got one, and if I go somewhere and can only take one lens, its always that one :)
What lens have you for already?
If youve just got the kit lens, I wouldnt get a prime. They are much more specialized lenses.
I would advise either a 10-20, or a good telephoto lens, but I dont what you would get for £300 :(
Sounds good! I ask because I will be VERY tempted to strip mine out further. I know the back seats are easy to put back in, but I wasnt sure about all the plastic covers etc on the sides.
