With before & after results done on an independent dyno, not yours after you've messed with the resistance ...
Forgive me if i'm a tad sceptical of your figures :)
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Glad you like. Its a great car imho :)
Bought something last night that i thought id never do actually, some R888's.
To be perfectly honest, im not sure ill like them, as i still believe that the clio is a little underpowered to need...
1p a litre saves me about £2 a month, & i do 30k a year.
To be honest, if petrol were £3 a litre id still buy it, its just one of those necessities tbh. I just go without something else.
Cars looking good, but just thought id add a couple of thoughts:
1. The ktec filter of death is appalling, how ktec carry on selling it i dont know.
2. Get Matt to check the wiring, the loom on the ktec itb'd car i just broke was appalling.
3. Im amazed they didnt do something as simple as...
Had this on my old Trophy.
Compared to my current Trophy, which is completely standard?
F*ck all difference. Spend the money on beer & hookers instead.
Was about to say that!! Iirc Chris 'n Nic's one was in a similar state when that was written off.
Shame to hear about the accidient though, looked like a minter :(
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Yah, when it sounded like it was about to blow up! And smelled of burning :o
Will ask Tom about changing to the Cup setup if i need a new alternator i think, aircon doesnt work anyway.
Well, as the left time i saw it, it looked like this:
I would imagine that the airbox has something to do with a certain Michael 'Bodge-It' Burgess ...
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Umm. Im going on the time basis, rather than mileage .... (crossed fingers)
Hadnt thought about the waterpump, will ask Tom about that as well as coolant, etc.
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Not entirely sure tbh, its nowhere near as rattly as Guppy's was, although that one was royally buggered!! Sounded like a bag of marbles being shaken in a box ...
Is due a cambelt/aux belt service anyway really, so will probably get the...
Poor car, up for sale AGAIN: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2640486.htm
Still amazed at how it passes the mot each time with just an abs sensor change ... amazing seeing as i removed the ENTIRE abs system & changed the master cylinder lol.
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Right, little update as the car is currently poorly, with a weird, rattly/whirring sound coming from the engine. I have no idea what's wrong with it so i'll essentially be dumping it at JMS on Thursday for Tom & James to diagnose/fix/hopefully...
Oh FFS. I give up.
I'm off to find some tyres for my venoms.
Oh, & btw the way, im not so keen on the bonnet either, seems to be giving in to what you didnt want the car to be - if you know what i mean?
Started 'whirring' from the alternator/pulleys area at Donington, no idea what im looking for so made some videos, which may help someone slightly more mechanically minded than me ...

As above really, do Renault do this, like BMW do?
Need to find out whether my car definately had a cambelt service at 144k, as i cant find the receipt anywhere :(
Was done at a franchised dealer apparently.
