just as a thought....
what would actually cause this - i have been told by several people, oil starvation - would this explain temp to rise so drastically??
If it is oil starvation, whats best to check - i had a look at the oil pump and that seems fine! ....Hmmm...
Or could it just be...
:D well... it could be ALOT worse...
im simply looking at a new set of shells, and then regrinding the crank... obviously do a bit of cleaning up internally, steam wash etc.. and get a new oil pump in there...
then we will be away... and if luke is reading this, it will be very much for sale...

so there it is, the whole reason why my engine seized, and my crank wouldnt budge...
EVENTUALLY got the sump off.... and then saw some little pieces of metal in it...
the shell had actually stuck to the crank shaft...... then...
Cams arent expensive? - i paid approx £300 or something for cams, followers and verniers.
and i would defo say your next best option along with remap...(£500 @ GDI)...
a decent S/S manifold will cost you near to £250...
i personally think this has gone wayyyyyyyy off topic...
wind your necks in...
the guy is basically saying that his car was noticed, by someone in a maclaren F1 - it doesnt mean anything.... I take pride when someone comes over and says is that a williams.... its just something you dont...
yeh its one of those things you think will "never happen to you" then it does lol....
Im have managed to meet a "top fueler" from santa pod, and he is interested in rebuilding it for me. May drop it round sometime this week, but hope he can sort it...
just out of interest, will a valver...
Right,
im hopefully going to be getting a trailer sorted over the next week or so, and ill be taking the car up to GDI for the damage to be assessed, think removing the head will answer a 1000 questions
I have sourced a 1.8 16v engine, and ecu, so have that now as a "back up"....
Im...
yeh, well im on the look out for a new engine, whatever is going really...just need to get this car sold now.... have a holiday booked as well, so cash is not great!!
I will get it sorted, one way or another. I think i have pretty much fixed EVERYTHING on the car now... by the time i come to sell it it would be brand new with parts lol!!!
Ohh well, there is a reason for everything, i wasnt meant to sell it yesterday, and i wasnt meant to get to my police...
no warning signs - seriously i was cruisng @ 75-80mph, and then i heard something "twitch" pulled over, and it just cut out... got it started again, and it sounded.....well, sounded like that horrible sound you never wanna hear... metal on metal....
im so sorry luke, all i can say is that i will get it fixed, if you are still wanting the car let me know, one way or another it will be back on the road asap.
aye, gonna find myself a 1.8 block so if anyone knows of one!! let me know, along with a 1.8 16v ECU -
I have a chipped prima racing williams ECU so, can either exchange??? or just buy your one?
no thing is they do a day where more than just 1 person goes along, its more of a briefing and entry day. So, miss that and your stuffed, the waiting list is huge, so you can the que of people waiting to get in!
Well,
It happened, on the day i had a interview for the police force, along with the day that i had my car sold to luke off here, and the day i have reached a verdict. I have had some sh*tty luck!
MY BOTTOM END HAS GONE - 2.0 ownership is now at an end, i have a dead car sitting outside, so...
its too hard to compare these two cars as they both do different things...
im tempted to get a scoob and pay off the insurance straight away, and then just have the running costs to live with...
yeh?
well in a way im thinking that a trophy would be a bit more sensible, i would have more money every week, and also, by the time i come to sell it 2 to 3 years, ill be 24ish, ready for a cheaper insurance on a scoob... thats the plan perhaps?
Really, my main concern is "will i be...
I SOLD IT
(MY CAR THAT IS)
HEHE... good news is........
ITS STAYING IN THE CLUB!! WOHHHOOOOOOOO!!
Ill leave it up to the new owner to tell all who you are ;)
Top bloke

Ill miss it :(
Well, basically put it this way........
if i were to get A NEW car i would get the trophy - 3 year warrenty and all that will be lovely, so i wont have any hassle, probably keep it 2 years or so...
IF i got a SECOND HAND CAR it would be the scooby.
So its new or old really...?
right just got back...
test drove a 182 "Cup" again - 3 up, and was much better than the Full fat 182 i test drove, really was a better drive for some reason.
NOW, Im in a dilemma, where i havent got a clue what to do!!!
I will have 9k-10k to put down on the car, which would mean only...
Im off to Renault Ashford, Kent this afternoon to have a chat about the Trophy, and IF all goes well will be putting an order down.
I have already been offered one for £14,000 without walking through the door, so in my opinion i could probably knock it down further? opinions?
Im going to be...
yeh, well, im going up renault on saturday to seriously talk about the trophy option - gonna check insurance out as well...
i may even take one out again, as my experience in one was very limited... and i didnt really get a chance to test it properly.
