Funny that i should find this thread .... Failsport are currently looking to build a turbo'd, supercharged and throttle bodied Clio 200!! In the style of a Golf 1.4TFSI thingy, but in a clio & with cornering ability.
Obviously we'll be fitting turini's, silvervision & ktec coilovers as well...
Mine gets the cheap stuff. No point putting in super when all i do is sit on the mway at 70mph for 2k miles a month.
Makes bugger all difference anyway, unless the car is turbo'd. Which is isnt.
Depends entirely on the person, their ability & the situation they find themselves in.
I wouldnt start an insurance company personally, but i managed to survive at a young age, driving some relatively quick cars. I did start driving at 11 though, farmland + uncle's Evo 6 ftw ;)
Ah yes, but the 2.0 Trophy would probably go round the corner at 110.
The 1.2 corsa wouldnt.
Imho a quick car, designed for speed, is possibly safer for a youngster than a slow car, not designed for speed. Purely as it'll mask the mistakes better & help you out a bit more in a tricky...
For me though, thats the problem, to get to decent speed in a 1.0 you need to keep your foot in for a long time!! Drive flat out constantly, etc. In a quick car you just toe it, get to desired speed, slow down again, etc.
Maybe thats just me, but i've had pretty swift cars ever since i passed...
Nail. Head.
The stupidity of people amazes me constantly. Whether they offer you £1500 more for your shed, or £1500 less off the new car, the cost to change is still the same lol.
So much dumbness in this thread. Tbh, i've resisted posting in it, but now my head is going to explode. As such, im going to write in bullet points:
1. Your cup isnt worth £4.5k, in fact glasses price (assuming 70k miles) is about £2k.
2. Your cup isnt worth £2.9k damaged.
3. It probably...
I'd guess its going in some kind of single seater/Locost/hillclimb car - pic looks like a Tatuus FR2000?
Hyabusa bodies as well possibly ...
Edit. Beaten to the spec by the OP. But i clearly reek of geek ;)
Saw this the other day lol ...
Tbh, the car had nothing to do with the accident, it was inappropriate speed for the situation the driver found themselves in. Could have been doing 110mph in a Corsa 1.2.
A car is only as fast as the accelerator is pressed/held down for.
