    New van time, yes van!

My trusty Nissan van turned 4 and 92k miles so had an itch to change it. I originally wanted a Caddy maxi, had a drive and for the price wasn't impressed. Passed a Ford garage on the way home and had a go in a Transit Connect, loved it and ordered a Lwb Trend  I love it, whisper quiet and...

    iPhone 7

I usually use a case, Apple leather one. A couple of months ago for whatever reason I decided to remove it, working on the Clio, knelt down, phone hit the ground, screen smashed to s**t, first time ever damaging a phone 😧 Case for me, but agree, wouldn't fit a cheap feeling one

    iPhone 7

Ordered my matt black 7+ this morning, due on the 23rd. Bit worried it's too big but a 6s in a case passed the 'fit into the phone pocket of my work trousers' test so I'm sure I'll get used to it quickly :tongueout:

What have you done to your car today ???

Here you go..... And as it's what have you done.....removed the fog surrounds and trumpets and fitted some mesh

    Track/road suspension

I'd have Ast top mounts over pms (I've had both), camber/castor adjustment for track work, no strut brace though but I'm not convinced they're of any benefit on the Clio anyway

    172 Cup track toy build

thanks  yes, Standard pads on the rear, not really sure there's any point in anything fancy tbh but open to suggestions! I've run DS1.11 on the front before and they were awesome, recently been swapping between some cheap mintex and the RC5+ which are ok, but didn't give me any real...

    172 Cup track toy build

isn't the only difference between the boxes 5th gear? I though 1st to 4th were the same? Yours has made a huge step with the extra weight gone and slicks, you'll eat me through the corners now :) I've noticed so many new cars/faces at the last couple I've been too, pretty good driving standards...

    172 Cup track toy build

As I said before, nothing rash being done, it'll be around for the next couple of track days then see how things are. Glad you're not getting too disheartened with your Clio woes!

    Roll Cage Advice...

they come flat, it's surprising just how straight the arch is at that point but they do curve slightly as you tighten them

Ferodo DS1.11 and CL RC5 brake dust.

5+ have a load less dust, 1.11 slightly less it a lot less damaging to paint . No comparison in track performance though, 5+ are decent but lacking ultimate stopping power for me on track

    172 Cup track toy build

Yes still am, it'll be stripped though, I think it's the only way I can get half decent money back out of it, in no hurry at the moment, X is broken again and I don't have the urge to fix it until I do a couple more track days, then I need to clear some metal from my driveway and maybe have a...

Looong few months break, Clio was back on track yesterday, found it difficult to get some clean laps in, but had fun!

    Who's caged thread

.....and you'll end up spending more on the Westfield lol. You're spoilt for choice with that budget, but half the fun for me was buying a standard car and modding it then feeling the benefits, you don't need to do it all in one go then track it, I loved doing it in stages :)

    Who's caged thread

A lot of money, yes, but I value my own life! Safety devices on a road legal track car...some things just aren't worth skimping on IMO

Clio 182 - Tidy Up & Track Project

Your battery is certainly bigger than the one that was my in mine, but I since fitted an odyssey race battery behind the passenger seat :)

Clio 182 - Tidy Up & Track Project

Just keep an eye on it, it does look quite clean so you're probably right on the spillage. Regarding the air filter, it's right behind the rad, the best place on a clio seems to be right in behind the passenger side headlamp, if you search 'fattys induction kit' you'll find a cheap way of doing...

Clio 182 - Tidy Up & Track Project

Great start, Clios are so simple and so much fun to mess with, I'm running out of jobs to do on mine, usually dream up something daft to do though :)

    Newbie - Cheshire

No mate, not posted on MLR for 18 months, that usual nasty clique ruined it for me, and I don't mean Aidy lol, I was on there from 08 with 10k posts and hate the place now. I still have the X and V, although the X turbo needs rebuilt again to get rid of the smoke screen, FP Red  I still...

Road Legal or Trailered Track Car

Depends on the recovery driver really, I know a couple of people who use AA with no issues, one other who they refused to lift. I'm with AA but not had to use them

Road Legal or Trailered Track Car

I don't have anything legal to tow with, so the clio has to stay road legal

    Toyo R888's

Fantastic in the dry and OK in the wet, on track, I wouldn't use them as a road tyre though, they need temperature and wear quickly.

    Nankang NS-2R for Daily use

I found the 180 NS-2Rs superb in the wet on track, no doubt they'd be a decent road car tyre, noisey though
