My trusty Nissan van turned 4 and 92k miles so had an itch to change it. I originally wanted a Caddy maxi, had a drive and for the price wasn't impressed. Passed a Ford garage on the way home and had a go in a Transit Connect, loved it and ordered a Lwb Trend
I love it, whisper quiet and...
I usually use a case, Apple leather one. A couple of months ago for whatever reason I decided to remove it, working on the Clio, knelt down, phone hit the ground, screen smashed to s**t, first time ever damaging a phone 😧 Case for me, but agree, wouldn't fit a cheap feeling one
Ordered my matt black 7+ this morning, due on the 23rd. Bit worried it's too big but a 6s in a case passed the 'fit into the phone pocket of my work trousers' test so I'm sure I'll get used to it quickly :tongueout:
I'd have Ast top mounts over pms (I've had both), camber/castor adjustment for track work, no strut brace though but I'm not convinced they're of any benefit on the Clio anyway
thanks
yes, Standard pads on the rear, not really sure there's any point in anything fancy tbh but open to suggestions! I've run DS1.11 on the front before and they were awesome, recently been swapping between some cheap mintex and the RC5+ which are ok, but didn't give me any real...
isn't the only difference between the boxes 5th gear? I though 1st to 4th were the same? Yours has made a huge step with the extra weight gone and slicks, you'll eat me through the corners now :)
I've noticed so many new cars/faces at the last couple I've been too, pretty good driving standards...
As I said before, nothing rash being done, it'll be around for the next couple of track days then see how things are. Glad you're not getting too disheartened with your Clio woes!
5+ have a load less dust, 1.11 slightly less it a lot less damaging to paint . No comparison in track performance though, 5+ are decent but lacking ultimate stopping power for me on track
Yes still am, it'll be stripped though, I think it's the only way I can get half decent money back out of it, in no hurry at the moment, X is broken again and I don't have the urge to fix it until I do a couple more track days, then I need to clear some metal from my driveway and maybe have a...
.....and you'll end up spending more on the Westfield lol. You're spoilt for choice with that budget, but half the fun for me was buying a standard car and modding it then feeling the benefits, you don't need to do it all in one go then track it, I loved doing it in stages :)
Just keep an eye on it, it does look quite clean so you're probably right on the spillage.
Regarding the air filter, it's right behind the rad, the best place on a clio seems to be right in behind the passenger side headlamp, if you search 'fattys induction kit' you'll find a cheap way of doing...
No mate, not posted on MLR for 18 months, that usual nasty clique ruined it for me, and I don't mean Aidy lol, I was on there from 08 with 10k posts and hate the place now. I still have the X and V, although the X turbo needs rebuilt again to get rid of the smoke screen, FP Red  I still...
Depends on the recovery driver really, I know a couple of people who use AA with no issues, one other who they refused to lift. I'm with AA but not had to use them
