Not much to update, not tracking it at the moment as money is needed elsewhere, Clio will be sold later in the year but hopefully get a few days out before then.
AR1s which probably won't make it onto the car lol
The last tack day resulted in this........
Brand new discs and ds1.11 pads...
Wow, coming together quickly! Slow it down and enjoy the build, I loved doing mine, still find the odd job to do that I don't really need lol
best of luck with it
I'd go ahead, on track I've had the same federals on for two years and regularly put new 888s on the front, no complaints, I'd always put the best tyres on the front.
Avoid RC6, don't last and wreck paint work, two track days out of mine, never again! XP10s are great pads but again, unbelievably dusty, I had XP8s and ditched them for carbotech Bobcats on my Evo, great fast road pads and not dusty at all, not tried them on track.
Thanks Andy, I have a pair of AR1s here, it'll be a while until I use them though. Funny, I found the NS-2Rs screechy too, it's a Nankang thing lol
Not going off is the reason I bought them, other reviews said they didn't turn to chewing gum as soon as 888s, mine last for about 10 laps and I...
I'd advise going 5 or 6 point, I ran 4 points for a while and had some movement and never really felt fully comfortable. I added a fifth belt and I'm now firmly in place with no movement and very comfortable after being wary about a belt round the unmentionables!
Car's looking fantastic
just a pair, my original rear RS-Rs have done 11 track days and still have plenty of life in them, I didn't like them on the front but are great on the rear
They do 10 track days a year there, I only missed two last year, already missed one this year, I wanted to do them all! Travelling to another track somewhere is something I need to do :)
Thanks mate, here's a pic of the wiring, it's 25MM square cable, it's thicker than the bits of cable that were on the plug originally. if it was down to wiring or motor it wouldn't do it all the time though? the more you turn the assistance on the smoother it drives but then it loses the weight...
I've a mate who just can't fathom my love for them, he actually threw his hands up and struggled to get a word out when he saw it lol
I'm eccentric apparently :)
I'm thinking about ditching the rest of the interior/roof liner, my loom's as skinny as it can be as I need the locks etc :) Next hurdle is mot next month, I think I'm just going to put it through with the polys and chance it :grimacing:
