Why do you want 200bhp anyway?
On a dry day R888's will add 200bhp to your cars speed over ground.
Tuition will add another 100bhp.
And having a sh1t before you drive will add another 50bhp.
Add them all together and you have a clio with over 500bhp.
And again.
For a true 200bhp, the easiest/cheapest approach is Colombo & Barini camshafts & a JMS RS2+ inlet. Will cost about £2.5k
Or read Russ_16v's project thread.
BBR/Morego. ROFL. The new LAD iirc.
Do a search. I know of a Morego 202 that was rolling roaded recently at less than standard bhp ... great way to spend £1500. Not.
I suggest using the search function tbh, this gets asked at least 15 times a day, & im too lazy to type up a detailed post...
Set of Tyres - £400 for clio (Conti's) / £480 for M3 (Falkens-Very good!)
Servicing - 12k clio / 15k intervals. BMW independents prob same as clio specialists price wise, no cam/aux belt to change.
Tax - roughly the same
Insurance - M3 more
MPG - no worse by the sounds of things, much better...
Id wager that if you organised one for Daytona at Sandowne Park, all of the Staines/Surrey lot would go.
Thats about 10 people for starters ...
PS. Thats where we normally go.
Quite possibly :o
I love the fact that most of the people in this thread are the 'grumpy old men' of the forum.
Raise your hand if you're nearly 30 ...
Or 40 in Daniel's case
Clios are cheap. F*ckwits buy them.
Same as Sax-P, 106moaners, corsafart, VXRengineblewup, etc, etc, etc
People modify them as they think its cool to do so, then completely lose the point of what made them buy the thing in the 1st place.
Cheap.
Fun.
Which most people forget as it doesnt come out of their pocket each month ...
Come to buy your next car & you realise that you should have simply bought that depreciation proof £9k e46 M3. Yes, it would cost more in servicing (but not necessarily fuel), but it wont have halved in value like...
I like tinkering & building cars into something, then i get bored & pull it all apart again.
On the flipside, i dont spend masses of money, so its no real biggy, the people that pour thousands into a french sh1tbox are bonkers. Id rather just buy something else.
People also forget that a...
