Dont expect a 172 cup to be any faster than a vts with mani, exhaust & ramcooler below 90... you may know my saxo project if you're on sax-p ...
A cup is a good upgrade, modern vts if you ask me :D
It wont be marked as anything on the insurance register if no claim is made against it ...
When an insurance company pays out, then it is found, it goes down as stolen/recovered.
Nice mature response there.
I am merely trying to point out that buying a brand new diesel for money saving reasons isnt as awesome an idea as many people think. As you so rightly point out though, its entirely up to you what you choose to do.
'02/52 with about 90-100k i would have thought.
Although, if your buying a derv to save money, does it really matter how old it is? A brand new clio derv will lose about £3k as soon as you drive it off the forcourt ... gosh, thats economical motoring. FLOL.
I guarantee that over 12 months...
Before you do that, why dont you go & test drive a decent diesel, ie a £7k 330d Sport ... will save you considerably more per mile than a brand new clio - dont forget depreciation ;)
Re: Pictures od the Peugeot
£80 (no tyres): http://www.106rallyeforum.com/forum2008/showthread.php?t=74937
£130 (AO48's/slicks): http://www.106rallyeforum.com/forum2008/showthread.php?t=74896
£80!!!! Cheap as chips ;)
Too much grip, not enough fun imho.
For me, the idea of a trackday is to both explore the limits of adhesion, & improve my car control. R888's are overkill for such a low powered car. Its about fun, not speed.
;)
Currently have some 15's for track, came with 2 x T1R and 2 x PE2's. Would use the Toyo's on the front/Michelins on the rear ... now im not normally a fan of mix & match as its a bit inconsistent, so am considering buying 2 more of either.
The question is, do i go for another pair of T1R's @...
You just saved me £250 buying some MF rear dampers then ;)
I'm taking mine on track at Snetterton in August, already got some spare 15's, braided lines, HC's, DS2500's & 4 point harnesses so that should do me for a while!! As you say, its enjoyment thats the important bit ...
I just like...
He's spent an absolute fortune on it since he bought it though, exhaust, cambelt, damper refurb iirc ...
If he gets £4k he'll probably see about £500 in profit ...
Nice pictures!!
Seems you had a good day ... is the Trophy standard suspension wise at the mo, or have you been tempted by Mark Fish goodies? More importantly, do you think it needs anything else?
Awesome!!
Look forwarding to seeing another project thread then lol ... have a good read through here if you havent already, gives you some hints as to the best/best value bits to buy for it :star:
Get everything 2nd hand, off 106owners, 106 Rallye Register & Sax-P!!
Personally, i wouldnt mention it, cavaet emptor ftw.
There are soo many 172's out there, id just move onto the next advert if i saw damage on the ad. Unless it was massively cheaper than the other ones of course. It could quite plausibly have had low rear end damage, then a new rear bumper put...
