Re: Trophy #433
Few more updates after yesterdays tinkering :D
A few of the Failsport/JMS/Surrey lot are attending a track day at Snetterton on Monday, so i thought i had better make the necessary changes to the podgy Trophy ...
1. Rear seats/isofix bar came out, & my harnesses from the...
Who told you that lol.
MSV/Sparco/Caged/Mark Fish/OMP/Geronimo - all do bolt in ones. And a weld-in one is only as good as the welder.
The point is, people want a decent priced half bolt in, anyone can do a weld in one, & charge a fortune for it. The reason why JMS are doing so well is...

Ed? Are you actually Matt Wills/Stealthsport, but in a tall persons disguise, with more hair ;)
I'd like a bolt in, half roll cage at roughly £300 (like the 106/saxos), cheaper Fog light air ducts & Speedline 2110's at a fair price ... oh & Koni rear adjustables, higher lb springs, etc for...
You need to have a read of my last thread, ie the one thats 9 pages long & says about how cheap R26's are these days .... theres one at Car Giant for £7k lol.
Nice write up, you really should have got to la Dune du Pilat if you were down near Bordeaux though!! Bonkers great big sand dune, truly beautiful too ...
If you fancy going again, send me a pm, i've covered pretty much all of the N/W/S coasts of France, along with the Alps, Pyrenees, etc :D
Argh, what a nightmare!! Especially for it to blow whilst mapping :dapprove:
Clio's are now surely getting to the 306 Gti6 levels of fail when it comes to cambelts & the importance of having it changed by a good specialist!! Bad times.
The R26 had R888's. They will make anything/anybody quick on track.
My advise is to buy some R888's, add some decent coilovers (ie Bilsteins), lose some weight out the car, then go hunt the R26.
My average is 38mpg over the past 4k/2 months. Thats using cruise on the mway at just under 4k revs in 5th for 85 miles a day. Then 'enthusiastic' driving at the weekends.
I dont want any pms either.
