Hi All,
Recently upgraded my 1.2 Mk1 Ph3 to a 182! Loving it as a car right now, was a little worried when buying as there were so many bad reviews/comments everywhere! But as usual, it seems to be only the complainers that post as the rest of us are too happy to bother! 2 main things I was...
Your friend took these for photography coursework?! He must have failed! The last picture has no focus point at all!
Like your car though, I would like to upgrade my car to a nice black clio like yours when it finnaly gives up the ghost... (or a metallic yellow...)
provided the insides are empty (they will be if its all smashed as it will blow out), you have the best option already; you wont get busted so much by the cops if they pull you over (decats are illegal for road use).
However most of the time cats dont completely break apart (and in some cats...
From the video, that sound like a spark plug issue... easy weay to tell is to remove 1 plug at a time and run the engine for a very short time. If the tapping goes away when a certain plug is removed, then it could either be a HT leak or the piston head is touching the plug end. You can also do...
Ok another update... After removal of the driveshaft and closer inspection , this dosnt seem to be the problem. It appears to be more related to the wheel bearing (which is good becasue tha tis cheaper!), I am goign to get a new on pressed tomorrow (hopefully the rain will hold off for another day!
Hi All,
I did some deeper investigation and have found out that its the inner, left hand spyder (on the endo f the driveshaft). When the wheel is turned, the spyder becomes loose in the carradge, and thus vibrates. Im going to take it apart later today, but im guessing it might be terminal as...
Hi All,
I have had this problem on my clio for a while now (about 9 months) and I still havent been able to pinpoint whats causing it!
The problem is, when the car is going 30+mph and I am tunring right (even just the slightest turn, if I turn left the sound goes away completely), the front...
Hi All,
Was just looking at replacing the gf's tyres, the clio (1.2 TCE Dynamic 57 plate) currently has Renault 185/60/R15's (with Dunlops SP Sports). However and after looking on a few sites (by usin gthe reg), we have found that most sites say this car is supposed to have 165/60/R15's...
Its worn because it ran out of oil :S , i originally thought it was because the pick up pipe had broken off but its ok, i guess the iol sensor wasnt working at the time. Im going to post some really large pics of the crank later to show how worn it is... maybe someone will be able to tell me...
I have changed the name of the video on youtube and pointed out in the description that its 172Ben and not Point8 that posted the pictures! Sorry again 172Ben! :S i must be going mad!
oops! my bad! Sorry 172Ben! I must have been half asleep this morning! Big thanks to you 172Ben!!!!
Thankyou thankyou thankyou!
not sure why i thought it was Point8 that posted the pics :s lol.
Ok Point8, its mid-week, and heres the results of the vineger test:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=I3iHT3xybSk
Iv made it a video as i think it shows the results better ;)
ok iv put some small bits in the vineger (the bits that hold the crank shaft in place), i'll post some pic's 2mos to show how they turned out! The vineger im using was pretty cheap iirc... Its a good thing i like the smell of vineger lol.
BTW iv already used gunk on all the parts and put the...
lol thats amazing, im going to put a small part in vineger now to see what it looks like 2moz, and then i might have to go shopping! lol
just out of interest, what made him try this?!
Are you joking about the vinegar?! lol
Thanks for the replys relating to the degreasing, any brand names to look out for?
still need to find out where to get the bearing shells? Is renualt the only place that *may* sell them? or maybe the shells are only made in certain sizes?
Im not in a...
Hi everyone,
Iv just stripped my old engine (D7F engine) to bits as it was broken. Before putting it back together id like to make everything look as clean/new as possible, which is the best product to use to make this happen?
Also the problem with the engine was the big end bearing shells...
yeah thats normal... shows its working and removing all that dirt. if you put it into a sprayer you can get at all the hard to reach places aswell! dont worry if the bottle starts melting, thats normal too! lol
Thanks for the replys, Brun you were 100% correct! i went ahead and got them put on, they fit fine & lowered my car around 55mm :)
For those who might be interested, the springs work fine with the smaller engine, nice and firm round the corners but not too hard that it knocks the car apart...
Hi all, im just about to change the suspension on my clio, iv got the correct shocks for the front and back, but APEX sent me the wrong springs. I have a 1.2 MK1 PH3 and i ordered -60mm springs, and they have sent me 16v/williams springs that lower -30mm.
Iv searched over the forum but cant...
wouldnt say dangerous, but he different treds will make the car pull one way and give very poor results... Why would you want to buy second hand tyres? you would be better off just changin the front 2 (if you want good drive grip) or the rear 2 (if you dont want the back end to skip out, this is...
33 on the front imo is silly, i did 29 for about 6 months on my t1-s' and they went bold in the center and hardly touched the outside treds... meaning they were way to high at 29! you guys that have them up above 30psi want to try knocking them down just for a while and you'll soon find they're...
