Best do a search don't think there many fitted try doing a search for posts by 16V_jon as he has one not seen any pics of his on here mind you from memory.
Best IMo keeping it infront of the rad and easily accessable so you can cover it up in the cold weather so the oil is allowed to get to temp.
You said turbos are needed on diesel and to be fair should compaire a turbo petrol with them well there no problem at the end of the day were supposed to be comapiring production standard cars so what a 200hp Golf and say a remapped 170 TDi gold (there no 200hp diesel golf so needs a remap to...
Depends if you have a drive by wire or cable IMO I'd bin the lot and go to a drive by cable and stand alone ECU anyway. Otherwsie gte a one with cable and use that as its easier IMO less electrics and easier to strip down.
No cheap tunning could go to throttle bodies if your going to stand...
Yep they've made a mistake the 172 is right as per what I said.
The 172 and 182s are all the same width anway. Same for lenght realy and height is very little difference.
Yep but most of the time they don't. You have to compaire like with like no point saying a 172 with a turbo will be quicker than a 175hp megan dci after all the 172 onl;y has the same power just to be fair you bolted a 6k turbo kit to it.
Why bother IMO stick with the setup the Williams and most of the None RS M2 and the valvers use ie 2599m disk and the bigger calipers
The 5GTT uses the smaller 239mm disks and the bigger calipers.
Just need the disks and the brackets and the calipers and the bolts sometimes.
Well ring the dealers up and ask when for prices there a few dealers local.
If you don't care about dealers then I'd recomend this place for a good job and its cheaper labour rates plus there ex Renult guys.

if you have any trouble...
Why the aftermarket ECU though? WIll be nice for next owners if they do want to go tunning it but at this level useless. Inless you went (and you must have) gone to drive by cable whats the points (since you didn't add that to the original spec I'm having to guess you have it).
The mount bushes people change are the bushes in the dogbone mount there are no other easily or commonly used.
Personaly i don't rate the bushes in them IMo stick with the stock setup all round for all mounts renew as required with Renault orginal parts if needed.
A bit dear but not unusualy
£40 for the bearing original Renault (only ones I'd ever use) then say 1.5 hours to fit.
You can get check copy bearing for under £20 but I woulnd't bother.
Im amazed so mnay people are happy to leave the belts that long with no warently covering them if it all goes wrong.
60k or 4 years whatevers sooner and 36k for the aux belt on a 172/182 minimum IMO unless you've a good warently.
You'll only be gald you follow more stringent service rules...
No box is a simple fit there are a few 6 speed with LSD which fit but there not simple for the rest of the kit making them work. Just as well pikcing any FWD box and making it fit.
Need to get the head off to see the damage. Forgetting sell when its damaged will loos a load.
03 plate is near 5 years old asking for trouble leaving it that long IMO anwyay.
Engines are much the same bar the exhaust manifold and exhaust system and the bit the fule injectos attach to is the same the top plebham is different.
No point at the end of the day the engine is similar to other Renault etc its stuck in so can get one of those manual if need be.
He has the 172 manaul I can send out I belive anyway.
