IMO Decent mats are Cannons, they do some which have like a carpet feel section quite deep tread. Looking at circa £50 with 2 free rear mats from Halfords. I had some in my 306, they were great mats, V.hardwearing. Selling them on Ebay now as I have ones in my 172 cup...

If theyve painted it properly with water based paint plus the bonding agent, then this shouldnt be happening. It does sound like poor quality workmanship, but thats only from what you suggest as it cant be seen. If the paints been applied and bonded properly, then there should be NO problems...

172 cups have the alarm in them as standard, usually ultrasonics...I think if it is imported then it could be a problem, (I know that imported 172/182s dont come with the standard Renault alarm).

That Clio "1.2" is a brilliant car performance wise, and the last time I spoke to the owner, he was saying that hes thinking of putting in a VW 1.8 turbo engine from an Audi TT, etc., then hell get even more power from it. I think that the Cup is a fairly subtle car for those not in the know...

If I remember correctly, the Megane bottom end will line up with the Williams 2.0 litre engine. I think that this is what 2live has done with his...if you send him a PM, Im sure hell be the best one to answer you, and he does know his stuff.

I know that in the 306, if there was a pool of water (or traces of water) it could be the heater matrix...dont know if this is the same on the Clio, but if it is, it could be a dash off jobby... If this has nothing to do with the Clio, then I apologise for causing unnecessary panic. Good luck

Tim, just so you know, DONT buy the Autolock 2000...I had it on my Pug, couldnt put it on the cup as it dug into the plastic trim on the wheel...Just for your info.
