I'm truly happy to be wrong, but as I say I tried to restore my files numerous times to no avail. I will go into this in further detail and it's not perhaps as black and white as I have intimated and I want to be expressly clear/transparent and us unbiased as I possibly can. At this point, I'd...
I'm fairly sure, but I'm happy to be entirely wrong, if only for everyone who's busy flashing their ECUs and being unaware's sake. I've built my own computers, flashed my previous android phones with third party/developer ROMs for years and always updated/reverted firmware on all my devices...
No problem mate. I only share my first hand experiences. I am amazed that the info is not more widely acknowledged. I know that older versions of RSTuner maps were not locked, so that may be the reason why. The product (and 98Ron map) is good, it's just an important piece of information everyone...
Fish/Aquarium type shop? You just need some hosing. Take one of the connectors if you can, or just measure the end of one of the split hoses so you know what size you need.
Just for anyone considering Tyre Leader, or was dubious about them being cheap etc.. I'm fairly impressed. My tyres turned up today having ordered them at nearly midnight and they've come all the way from the Netherlands based on the tracking info!
Nope, he told me to go to a custom tuner to get my 428's mapped. I went to both MWM and SJM, neither could get access to the ECU, because the firmware RSTuner updates with (at least more recently) encrypts/locks the ECU so that RSTuner VCI's are the ONLY way you can upload new map files...
As fatty says, it won't make a difference with those mods. The only issue would be if you wanted more significant mods requiring a custom tune at a later date. If you think that's a possibility then I'd go with Dan.
If your certain you won't then the RSTuner is a very good option.
Might be a different pump, what I meant is it looks to be the same design/layout and the same size. It looks exactly the same as the ones I fitted to my 182 tbh so even if internally the pump is different it should still fit I reckon...
I don't know the exact answer to your question, however if it fits in a mk2 clio, mounts at the same place and uses the same type of pump (can't see why it wouldn't) then I really can't see any reason it wouldn't work?
Edit: having just looked at pics of both im almost certain it will fit fine...
Blow torch. I used one from b&q, heat outside of where the thread area would be till it's almost literally red hot and then spin that b**ch off.
Pain in the tits but worked for me. The torch has paid for itself tenfold since, being used no end of times on other ceased stuff!
Id probably just...
They'll all be GRNX, it's just Michelin speak for the wear rating. FSL = rim protection for example.
205/45/16 83V are showing as £72,50 per corner now but still cheap. You can also get 195/45/16 84V XL for the same price.
Be aware that flashing your ECU ties it to using an RSTuner box (VCI) to upload new maps forever more. Not a problem unless you will desire/require a custom tune in the future (e.g. you fit aftermarket cams), but you should be aware of it beforehand. I was unaware and it was a serious ballache...
Can't (technically speaking) live map 1*2 ECU's. For common breathing mods you might be able to get a 'generic' map, which will be cheaper than a full custom tuning. I know @Dan@SJM does some generic maps and may have one for a ktec style IK/decat etc. He also does custom mapping if needed.
I...
No idea! Tyreleader have got very good reviews on trust pilot though. They haven't been sat on the rack for years either. Posts on other forums have all had tyres only a few months or so off the production line!
I took mine out whilst I had the front bumper off for something else, so you could do it that way too.
If you've removed the standard airbox and pipe work, the acoustic valve does literally nothing. It was only there to reduce induction noise in the first place in line with EU regulations afaik.
1. Stubby aerial? If so try out another, longer one. Stubby ones tend to be shite.
2. Depends on the head unit. What model is it? You can get a patch lead & cable for some. Circa £3 and £25 each respectively (you'll need both) that will make the steering wheel controls work.
Mine does the same, though not the same brand bulb etc. I had two ideas about it:
1) When the car is unlocked the circuit is closed (allowing current to flow through it) as it's highly likely you're about to open the door and either use the car or need the light on. Then when you lock the car...
It sets the auto-lights permanently on, so the dipped beam is constantly on. Full beam is still manually operated and you have to turn the lights on, on the stalk to be able to engage full beam. They turn on when you turn the ignition on though, so in that sense they operate like a DLR. Might...
