As said it won't drain your battery and it's fine.
To add more to this, I believe it is something to do with residual/low level current still being present in the circuit. It's normally due to there being a switch that's being powered or similar in the circuit. I believe in the Clio it's...
If you didn't ask to have the water pump done and they did it off their own backs they haven't got a leg to stand on.
I'd get written quotes off a couple of the specialists and tell them that's all you'll pay extra.
I just bought filter plastic and cut it to shape when doing mine. I've done mine blue too. I disagree it's too bright, the pictures really don't do it justice to be fair. Having said that I am going to re-do my clocks again in white. Simply because I think it looks 'cleaner'. Might use some...
I've got Eibach pro's, cup shocks, refreshed bushes all round, and the PMS kit and am very happy with it. I would only swap to coilovers if I wanted to go lower, really.
I would have thought that there's a difference in air supply and that the ECU will adapt over time, so those experiencing not 100% performance might find the car improves as it's driven more. Whether or not that difference is enough to be noticeable I don't know. @Dan@SJM would be able to tell you!
If you cut them properly you can just push them in with your fingers. I have to all the ones I've done. It's really not a difficult job I promise, just a bit of a faff getting it lined up nicely on your todd. The bonus is, if you line them up well the first time, then if you ever need to replace...
My bolts were glued in pretty tight with corrosion too. You can reach the back of bolt through the bracket though. I used a hacksaw blade (just the blade) to very lightly chip away at the corrosion being careful not to put any real pressure on, combined with wire brushing and penetrating oil(s)...
Not sure where to post this so hopefully mods will move it to wherever is appropriate, but thought some of you guys might find it useful..
Was searching for some information for someone else earlier and stumbled upon this site, which hasn't locked up access all its directories. There's some...
So it would appear that the ECU remains locked/encrypted despite re-flashing the original firmware. Thanks for taking the time to test/post about that Fatty, corroborates my experience(s) and (to me) confirms that for all intents an purposes, the RSTuner does lock the ECU out from being custom...
@The Fatty To be explicitly clear, you restored both the .cal (the map file) AND the .rst (ECU software) files that you originally backed up from your car? It is the ECU .rst software that is of significance because that is what 'locks' the ECU.
Not to be pedantic, but in the interest of thoroughness/information for the thread... You did also try to re-flash the back up of your OE ECU software?
Could check that the piston/slider bolts are moving freely and aren't starting to cease up. Visually you could inspect the dust boots are all in-tact and unbroken. Physically, the sliders should be able to move back and forth and the piston should be able to be wound in/out relatively easily.
When I changed my coolant everything seemed fine with revving on drives and I let quite a lot of coolant through the thermostat bleed screw hole so was fairly confident all was well. Then I drove the car whilst keeping a very keen eye on the temp gauge. I went about 150 metres which included a...
I can't imagine any form of vinyl or plasticy sticker lasting very long at 180c. I'd imagine if you want them baked with a clear coat your only option will be some kind of paint.
That's just it though. Almost all anti-theft devices are essentially just a deterrent. Locking wheel nuts don't exactly cost a mint for a set. Using an impact gun and hammering a socket on aren't exactly quiet either whilst a tea leaf is doing it and it does make the process longer, albeit a...
As stated before mate, it did not work for me. To be fair I assumed that as it didn't work for me that it wouldn't for others. ECU Software versions, VCI firmware versions etc vary fairly wildly as well, depending on when someone bought the map/VCI from FastChip. I don't know which versions are...
Your filter will be fine as long as it is still held snuggly enough by the clip/hose, that it won't fall out the hose. I've got the Ktec kit and the previous owner overtightened the jubilee and squashed the 'neck' of the filter in a bit. I just bent it back into shape as much as I could. The...
Most specialists offer a check & re-time if necessary service. I believe it's circa £150 but obviously prices are different between them all. If you're particularly worried I'd just got and get it checked.
Not even close to true at all IME. In fact, I've never found a garage who wouldn't do it. Some are more expensive than others, but the town I live near is relatively small and I have at least five places under 6 miles away that will fit them for £45-65 fully balanced etc. 4/5 of those are...
I believe so yeah. Certainly the first tuner I went to couldn't read the ECU at all. I wasn't physically there the second time, as my alternator died the day I was supposed to drop it off, so in the end it was dropped off by the AA on a trailer. I obviously wasn't present when the second tuner...
I've got the IDE-178BT. I'm very happy with it on the whole, it's a good headunit. The Tune It mobile app doesn't work though and I'm having trouble with blue tooth connecting automatically. I haven't really looked into the problem though so could be something simple and entirely my fault :P. If...
Also... If the solution is simple and easy then Henk would know this, as he knows his product better than anyone else.
In that case why would he be reluctant to share, inform or develop a method by which to do it whilst still protecting his intellectual property (the maps and software).
