That would be good, do you get to Oulton at any point? I will try to get one sorted it would give a useful starting point. Do you adjust your own geo?

MOT Failure: Sabelt steering wheel (Drivers airbag missing)

    172 Tarmac Rally Car

I dont know would be the truth but it's such a short lap I dont think you get much increase and I started with more pressure in the rear. Obviously tyre compound and temp will have played a part but it wasn't lack of front end grip more lack of willingness to respond.

    Would you buy these?

In this case yes they are two expensive, but i do feel sometimes people undervalue wheel and tyre combo's You have to compare apples with apples
  12. sam JFM

    Would you buy these?

To be perfectly honest that's a good price - providing that they are in "just professionally refurbished" condition with "new" premium tyres. I wouldn't buy them myself and am playing devils advocate really but if my above criteria are met your talking over 700 quids worth ...

    172 Tarmac Rally Car

I didn't, should have done really but with it being as short as curborough is i didn't think it was really worth it. That's my theory too - that way i have half a chance of understanding whats going on. How would i go about running camber and toe at the same time? can you run two shims at once...

    172 Tarmac Rally Car

I do have an ARB to fit but i don't really want to go throwing components at a problem that setup might fix, IMO steady incremental improvement is the way forward to get the car to suit my style. (all the gear no idea?) i could slat the ARB on and it mask a more fundamental problem

    172 Tarmac Rally Car

Off the top of my head ( I have it written down at home, but I'm currently out of the country) Front has 2mm toe out and 1.5 degrees negative camber Rear is standard Rake I think was about 10 - 20mm nose down (I'm not sure about that though) I did increase the stiffness of the rear...

Hit a badger - now have a slight leak ...

I don't like hitting animals - i hit a rabbit at 50 once! you could hear it contact everything under the car (thanks to cup sound proofing) then it exploded out of the back after hitting the exhaust! Horrible :dead:

    172 Tarmac Rally Car

So i finally got round to using the car! its taken me alot longer than i imagined but has been worth it! The car went very well at curborough - no breakdowns! Its surprisingly quick for a standard car its possible it has had a remap at some point? Only thing i have to report is under-steer, it...

406 Brembos vs willwood 4 pots.

Little harsh mate - just because you haven't experienced problems doesn't mean they don't exist

406 Brembos vs willwood 4 pots.

Personally i have never had problems with stopping power on standard calipers with decent pads, but i have had issues with fade - but if that was heat of the pads or heat in the fluid i don't know. So 4 pots should help with cooling due to larger pad area and bigger disc?

What power can be achieved without boost or throttle bodies - 172/182

What sort of figures price wise are you talking to do the modifications to the inlet?
  26. sam JFM

What power can be achieved without boost or throttle bodies - 172/182

What sort of modifications to you have to be performed to the head and standard inlet.to achieve good power? Its appealing to be mainly as I don't want £1000 plus stuck at the front of my car asking to.get smashed in a bump.

    Stud and nut info

One thing I will say that's negative for the pms kit : who the hell owns a 5.5mm Allen key? Or 7/32's in old money? surely 5mm would have been better!
