Yeh change the filter if you're only changing every 1000 miles. I will sometimes change the filter every other time but I change the oil every 120 - 150 ish miles in the rally car
Before you take it off make sure you have a jack or something under the front end.
soon as you undo both shocks the car will become light at the back and pivot on the front axel stands and hit the floor
Its really not that hard when you get going, most difficult bit is getting the inlet and exhaust pulleys tight- really hard to get an angle gauge in there
If you have valve/piston damage, replace the engine.
The amount of work that is required to rebuild the head is quite comprehensive and expensive ( Valves, (maybe)lifters,(maybe) rockers, head gasket, head bolts, sealants , belts etc.) you also have the added issue of potentially damaged big end...
Ive done 5 tarmac rallies on my ledas and not had a problem tbf

Not sure what to try, it's the first proper wet running ive ever done so it's not easy to test any changes

Finaily got the gearbox changed after its failure on the patriot the weekend before the event (thanks to agency transmissions for their top quailty service). Great we thought, plenty of time to setup the suspension and get some sort of...
Is it easy enough to change gearbox casings around?
I have one box that has s**t it's self and another one the apparently grinds into 3rd so I am wanting to try and make one good one
