Aww thanks :o im in two minds about getting another 306/106 or ph1 at the mo actually. Building a track car over the winter & the 3 series wont fit in the garage ... oh and standard, ppfffffffffffttt  i try that every time, fail every time as well tbh.
Cup/Rallyes are great, less to...
Fancy seeing you here lol.
Buy a cup, feel free to look at my brief project thread on the c*ntish forum: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=95090&page=1
There are plans for s/c conversions for the clio at the mo actually, just in case you get tempted ;)
Will keep an eye on this, purely because you are an inbred cornish bumpkin like me ... oh & Williams are
The towing moment reminds me of when i crashed my fiesta at 18 and damaged the front subframe, we tied the landy to it and unbent it using 'the force'.
I've driven them both, 99% of people on here wouldnt know the difference tbh, all placebo imho.
If you gonna go down the carbon splitter/turinis/coilovers route, it doesnt matter which one you buy anyway. I'd probably have a normal one as they're cheaper - id change most of it anyway ;)
My 4 pence worth.
The car is too expensive for the number of issues with it. Especially seeing as they are all glaringly obvious - without even looking at it in person. If it was a grand less id be tempted, but not at normal/bargain minter kind of money.
IIRC Schweppy only sold his for...
My old BM does that tbh, its called heel & toe ;)
I assume the engine is based on the de-tuned 106 gti/saxo vts lump found in the rest of the froggy family, good lump, get some cat cams & tbs in there! oh & if at all possible get rid of that terrible box, iirc its quicker to double clutch a...
Tbh i had a ktec stealth and found it better on the motoway than the standard system (baffles were gone admitedly), 25k in 10 months, most of which were spent on the mway - no earplugs required.
Was raspy/loud when i wanted it to be though ;)
You want loud, try a 306 Rallye with a full...
Ivan's ph1 is looser than a wizards sleeve on 115k or something & his put out 177bhp at the Surrey Rolling road, standard.
Miles arent important at all. Condition is. IMHO of course.
My old 106 gti (i had two the same)
My old 306 Rallye
Both truly epic cars, especially having raided the Bilstein & Pugsport Grp N parts catalogues. Easily as good as a 172/182 imho, both punish you with liftoff oversteer though ;) IMHO much more satisfying to throw down a back road/track...
Thanks, i love it to :) Running costs wise, its the cheapest car ive ever run, doesnt depreciate for starters!!! Then parts are peanuts from ECP/GSF. I average 35mpg, but i do spend a lot of time on the motorway, seen 40mpg on some runs lol. Speed wise, its quicker than a 172/182, little slower...
Been a while, but time for a little update now I suppose!!
Serviced the car about 3 months ago now, did the oil & filter, pollen filter, usual checks, etc, then reset it back to 5 green lights via the ‘paperclick’ method, although I’ve done 6k miles since then so im down to 2 already...
I've had 2 x 106gti's, a 306 Rallye, a 206 xsi, a 182 & a 172 cup. All built by lazy french people who were too busy drinking wine & eating baguettes to make cars properly. Its just a french thing i think lol ... they call it character ;)
Rattles are good tbh, means that whatever part is doing it is still there, ie exhaust rattle = good ... its when its quiet you have a problem, ie exhaust has stopped rattling = fallen off.
I'm sorry, but when you are no longer a 1.2 driving student, come back & give a response ;)
Seriously, i had a Z3M in my final year at 23, sort it out lol.
Nice one on the feautre Ryan!!
Glad the pics were posted on here tbh, no chance in hell of me buying/looking at a copy of Fast Car in a public place :dead: somone might see me lol ...
Considering he's 18, unless he is a professional racing driver, i expect i could beat him down a back road in a 1.2 clio, let alone a cup ;)
When will people realise that 9 times out of 10 it is driver ability, not car, that wins a 'race'
