Bucket Seats - Size (I'm fat)

Hello Cliosporters.

I'm looking at buying a set of buckets off of a friend. Problem is... he lives miles away and I can't try them out.

He's sent me these dimensions...

Now the only buckets i've sat in that i've known the size of were 40cm wide where these are 35. Are there any other fat people who can advise me on the fitting in the seat issue? The 40cm ones were fine (from memory, it was ages ago). I would try some more out for comparison but I don't know of anyone with buckets on this stupid island.

btw... i'm not a massive obese mess, just festively plump.

also just noticed that 27cm dimension around the chest. mmmm rib crushing.

like i said bud i fitted in, and wasn't 'pinched' in the 40cm width ones. i've since been on an experience day where i drove a cage'd n bucket'd scooby. the seats in that pinched a bit and might have got annoying on longer drives, no idea what size they were though.

don't know what to do really. lol. it's a shame there's nowhere nearby to try a range of seats out.

you can buy bucket seats std or GT width which are an extra 30mm on average and are ment for people who aren't proper thin.

I have a 36" waist and big thighs and don't fit most buckets I've sat in to date.

hmmm... that doesn't bode well... but i have fitted in the last few i've been in? this 35cm measurement does seem to be quite small though.... really small. lol

I have quite broad shoulders and am tall so really doesn't work for me lol I had to lever myself out of Rufstuf's cup seats

I have an extremely large penis, so have to err.. ahh.. eerrmm... have larger seats to accommodate for that!














Nothing to do with being 6ft 2" and having a 36" waist.. :rasp:


I have a set of Cobra Imola GT width seats, and these are fine for me.. just enough room to wiggle around, but still have that comfy "firm" feel.

Most Cobra GT width seats are quite spacious for the larger racer!!

cheers for the point in the "GT" direction peeps. might try and find some and try them out. as i've said... i have fitted in buckets recently so i'm pretty confident i'll find some.

guessing the ones dimensioned in the original post are a no go though... shame

For comparison, I have got a Cobra Evolution which measure as below so pretty similar to the ones on offer. i am a 34"ish waist and it is really tight for me.
Width at shoulder - 545
Internal max width at hips - 350

I also have an Evolution GT for the passenger seat which adds 30mm to the base and shoulder width and that is a lot more spacious, comfortably took my mate who is about a 36-38" waist.

Personally I would be on the look out for Sparco Evos. They do a standard, large and x-large width so you are bound to find one that is comfy.

Get GT width ones you'll be reet. My best mate is 20 stone 6ft3 and built likea brick shithouse and he fits in them (albeit only just, wallet and house keys have to come out of his pockets lol)
