Nah, it is fun, wouldnt have bought it if it wasnt!
But you need to remember its a bit old car, grab it by the scruff of the neck, hustle it a bit and will travel ground very quickly indeed ... in the dry lol. In the wet, roundabouts are fun ;)
Its totally different to the cup, RWD is great...
Well not really, but after fitting my splitter/Pep going to the gym to get massive, we decided to catch up and talk BMW. I took some photos, but as im pretty lame with a camera i shall only force you to look at 2 of them :o
After taking him for a quick blast, its safe to say that Pep has some...
Yup, bit more sensible for 30k a year, still get 35mpg out of it which isnt so bad!! My sensible head said buy another derv, but then 2.8 litres of smooth straight six appeared out of the blue, rude to say no tbh :approve:
I tried the same, think you could do it somehow if you took the front bumper off, but i was too lazy ;)
Hows my old baby doing? Pm me if you ever think of selling it ...
The 6 series on the right is sex.
With regards to rat, i think its quite cool in a weird kinda way. In fact my 328i has a rust spot on the boot & bbs', maybe i should rat it as well ;)
Yes, ive had both, done big miles (inc. track) & preferred the drive of the cup. Its not difficult to notice the differences, if you cant theres not only something wrong with your driving ability, but your ass, the rides worse for starters lol
Just out of interest, how did all you lot survive before abs?! tbqfh im amazed you're not all dead having locked up and slid into the nearest hedge at the merest hit of damp ...
Pussies the lot of you :quiet:
I've had a 182 with both cup packs & a 172 cup. The cup was rawer & overall i prefered it due to its lack of driver aids tbh; lower limits/lack of safety net = more mental focus = more fun imho... i found the 182 to be slightly too idiot proof for my liking :)
That and there is less to break on...
TT 225 - standard for now, but i've just bought her a digital boost guage for her birthday next week. Its getting remapped when she goes on holiday in August! She doesnt know this yet by the way ...
I used to use cheap stuff from Tesco, then i looked at the paintwork around the windscreen washer nozzles. It had clearly been damaged over time.
Now i use whatever BMW will sell me over the counter.
FFS lol, its a clio, not a ferrari, 172's/182's cost peanuts to run.
A car is as reliable as its maintenance regime imho. I've done 160k in a 206, a 182 and a 172 cup in 4 years. Problems other than routine maintenance = 0.
Buy sensibly and you'll be fine :)
I've had a 182 with cup packs (19k in 4 months), 172 Cup (25k in 10 months) and use a Cooper-S quite often. Mini's ride is terrible even on normal tyres. 172 cup is far more controlled. 182 is best out of the three for motorway use due to slightly better ride quality imho.
Ok then, ill be deadly serious.
Driving lessons & trackdays.
I had £10k last year to buy a car. I bought a cup for £5k, fitted a k-tech for longevity when the old one fell off, espace V6 airbox when the air filter needed changing, then did DS2500 pads, Brembo discs, braided lines & dot 4...
I sold my cup in Feb for £4,250 with 2 weeks MOT lol ... was obviously mint and i would have happily done it for him, but knocked £50 quid off instead.
Personally, i wouldnt buy a car without a decent MOT though!!
Because i dont sit in OT all day, i simply recalled one thread of FAIL/NEED/STUPIDITY from the past few months.
This one stood out: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=375079
You started it :)
Hi xx
IIRC & TBQFH AST's/H&R's, turinis, bullets & Silvervisions are fitted because all owners are ASW SWT's who love amphasite/ paedobear/lusty/tyssen/reeva/C*NTS/Munson, etc.
There you go, most of the CS buzzwords in one post ;)
ha ha, only spotted it on e36coupe.com tonight, didnt wanna tell you in case you paid him first lol ... what you been ordering?! & FFS where was my phone call :dapprove:
Hate to bring some reality to this convo, but i've been a member on the largest e36 forum for 5 years now and have 1st hand experience of the 3.0 & 3.2 ...
1. Daniel - im going to assume your 321bhp was at powerstation. So was mine. Take it with a pince of salt. Their rollers overread horribly...
