So your mate cant drive then lol.
Amongst other things, i've had 2 x 106 gti's, a 306 Rallye, a 182, a 172 cup & drive a TT 225 a couple of times a week (girlfriends). The TT is faster point to point. Fact.
If you havent driven a TT yourself, imho you are unable to form a rational & informed...
Use the Brembo HC's then, much cheaper & give the same result, 12 laps of the ring in 4 hours + DS2500 + HC + braided lines + castrol dot 4 = no fade; unless your an animal lol. I've also used the ds2500 on both my 106's & my 306, i punished both on track, they were fine ;)
In all honesty...
Can you actually drive? Best to get the most from what you have before throwing money down the toilet imho.
My suggestion = brakes + tuition/track days.
A good driver will show a coilovered + tuned 172 the way home in a 1.2. Search for Fred. He can pilot an automobile as far as im aware.
Looking great as ever James, but seriously, cant believe you didnt change the brake pads :S, huge schoolboy error, especially after all that work on the ducts lol.
DS2500 + Brembo HC. Done. I assume you already have braided lines & decent dot 4?
One assumed that as he was fitting a bodykit & his car had 'got low' he was a bit gangsta & would appreciate my 'down with it' lingo, clearly im too old to talk like a young 'un these days ;)
I'd maybe ask why the drivers side wing is a completely different colour to the rest of the car. Whole thing reeks of neglect tbh, 10 owners lol ... if a trader is selling it that cheap, to get it off their forecourt asap, theres probably a reason!!
Personally, it it were me, id save up a...
About 2.5-3 seconds behind an M3 then, so slow ;) tbh, i dont think you buy a Clio V6 to go fast (cos it will try & kill you lol), you buy it to ponce about in attracting thee ladiiies ...
Tbh, they are all different, french build tollerances are shocking, some cups do decent power, so do some normal 172s, just like the fabled 130bhp 106 gti's/saxo vts' ... just depends on whether its a monday morning or friday afternoon car tbh.
Fact is, the cup was built as a stripped down...
172 cup is faster/more fun than the 182. FACT. I've had both.
I agree with that tbh, most people simply jump on the band wagon. But, in Feb '08, i back to back test drove a '53 172 with 50k and a '53 172 cup with 55k on it, ended up buying the cup as it felt more 'alive' :D Nothing to do with...
This is bullsh1t . I used to work with one of the largest suppliers of ANPR cameras in the world and asked about this .... answer is, they can read 3D plates & incorrectly spaced plates without any problem whatsoever, they only get grumpy with the dodgy dots that make U's into O's, etc...
Front, better than before, back worse. Not for me im afraid. Edition 30 or nothing tbh.
They're getting a Porsche on their styling as well, ie lazy ...
For me its not so much the smooth look i like, but the 'improved' standard appearance, M3 GT wings look ace, but only on the M3 GT imho :) I actually bought a standard sport boot spoiler a couple of months back, but essentially didnt have the balls to drill 4 ruddy great big holes in my boot lid...
You're obviously just as bad, you noticed it ;)
Re: the interior, just used some liquid leather cleaner & conditioner, not been coloured/dyed at all as it dont think it really needs it.
Jon - need to get another rolling road day sorted as well, could combine that with pub lunch/BBQ at mine...
They didnt charge me any extra for air filter, exhaust or seats, would have been £30 extra for coilovers iirc. Mods are done on a like for like basis as far as im aware - could be wrong though tbh. Best off giving them a call, or HIC for that matter - although they are the same company ...
This is the only way an e46 should be modified ...
CSL + White = :o If you've ever been to the ring, you will have seen it hooning around ...

Been a while, but time for a little update now I suppose!!
Serviced the car about 6 weeks ago now, did the oil & filter, pollen filter, usual checks, etc, then reset it back to 5 green lights via the ‘paperclick’ method, although I’ve done 2.5k miles since then so im down to 4...
:rasp: In all seriousness, all a 172 needs to be epic is DS2500's, Brembo HC Discs, braided lines & some dot 4. Spend the rest on a trip to the ring or some track days.
Put it in the bank, then put clio on pistonheads, sell it. Combine the £3k you get for it with the £1k you have in your bank account. Go on pistonheads, search for e36 M3, look at car, drive car, buy car.
The end :)
