At a loss as to what is wrong, the part removed from the car (damaged pictured left) differs from the one on the right supplied from Renault, who the seller is adamant that there is no variation in parts for all 17/182's.
Can anyone shed any light into the difference before I go and order one...
I seem to get 35% days with GSF all the time, might be worth a go.
Otherwise have you tried Renault Wolverhampton? (One of the traders on here so I'm told)
Mine did this recently, took the battery off for half hour or so, disconnected the accelerator pedal and removed and lubed the throttle body and cured ;)
Second aux belt fail since I've owned the Trophy and seemed to have survived the dreaded cam belt failure.
Cause seems to be some damage to the crankshaft pulley, any idea where I can source one? Ideally new?
Mine did exactly the same a few years back and a Renault specialist had a new bracket welded up, luckily it didn't take the cam belt. Hope you get it sorted.
Stumbled across these as need to replace my discs front and rear, and shocked at how quickly they arrived.
Ordered Thursday afternoon and here by Friday. Seem a bit too cheap and hoping they are nearly as good as my Brembo HC's (lasted over 75k miles)...
Drove home tonight and the Trophy started to rev itself to around 3 - 3.5k on its own accord and the revs would only drop when changing gear. The problem went away and then came back, only to then display the orange dash light and enter limp mode. Car starts, seems to run fairly smoothly, just...
When you say in advance, how early would you recommend?
I've had the full Aux belt kit replaced twice since the last cam belt but that's a different story!
My premium is less than £200 with a very low excess so a claim in my position is going to have a minor effect on my policy. A policy doesn't necessarily just cover accidents, it also covers any sudden occurrences and in my books, this was a sudden and unexpected impact of an object, assuming...
It would appear that something has impacted and damaged the cam belt cover causing the debris to mingle in between the belt and its drivetrain causing the jump. I'm going to run an insurance claim as technically this isn't a mechanical failure, more 'accidental' damage.
Been looking around for the best price on oils and filters and stumbled across a standard Crossland panel filter from Halfords for £4.56 - 10% = £4.11. Equivalent around £12-£15 at ECP! (sorry I love a bargain).
If the incident was at 7 mph or under and the other party decides to claim injury, let her insurers know you don't believe the impact was severe enough to cause any injury. Hopefully they will then handle the claim as an LSI (low speed impact) and appoint a suitable engineer to inspect both...
Correct! Metro Motors is where I bought the T, nearly 6 years ago.
Had some very positive news, no internal damage and car should be fully repaired and running next week. New belts and kits, replaced dephaser and service = time to go and buy a lottery ticket!!
Hi mate, no update today but would rather it's looked at in time as want to get it back running sweet and with no more problems. Trust him to fix it right and known him for years. He seemed confident it will be ok. The fact it has good compression at all 4 cylinders can only be positive.
Andy, hats off to him, had a look at the car this afternoon at very late notice and appears something has failed near the cam belt as bits of black plastic were embedded in the belt itself. He believes the timing is out and believes it to be 2/3 teeth although is confident there is no internal...
