    Clio Trophy Engine failure .....

No worries and thanks all for the positivity! Checked my service book and the belts were replaced in Feb 11 on 38k miles so don't think it will be anything related. The aux belt and kit was replaced again after this and the belt from a quick visual inspection looked fine. Have a feeling it...

    Clio Trophy Engine failure .....

It's covered 98k to date, I don't wish to 'name and shame' on here but I trust my garage who fitted the belts and the car has covered ample mileage since they were last replaced, therefore ruling out any poor workmanship!

    Clio Trophy Engine failure .....

Belts done 2/3 years ago or so and had 'all' tensioners / pulleys for both the cambelt and the aux belt using all genuine Renault parts (i'll check all my receipts tonight). The level was above the minimum line and topped up to just below the maximum line but unsure why this would cause any...

    Clio Trophy Engine failure .....

I'll see what I can do, don't really want to run it if I can help it until it's relayed to my local Renault expert. The noise is not apparent on idle but more so when the car is revved, I have a gut feeling it will he internal but here's hoping!

    Clio Trophy Engine failure .....

Had a very low pitched 'whistle' between 2 and 3k revs for the last 24 hours and filled the car with oil this afternoon. On driving back to work (fairly low revs) the car decided to make a noise, continue driving (just) and now sounds rough as nails. The car still starts and idles for a...

South West BBQ On The Beach 29th July

Emma, do you have a beach in Torquay in mind? Some better beaches in Paignton / Brixham with some better car parks! (not that I am trying to save on petrol :o)

    No Power

Isn't there a specialist in Portsmouth area? Would be cheaper to get the ferry over to mainland to cure.

    No Power

Faults like this are so much cheaper to diagnose yourself by replacing the common items first and using a process of elimination. Would only recommend a specialist in a case like this as most 'run of the mill' garages do not seem to have a clue!

Hesitant of late - loss of power?

Mine has never really cut out so not sure this is the same problem. Thanks for your input though ;-)

Hesitant of late - loss of power?

Sounds plausable. Did you have any dash lights? Also, mine always starts no problem, did yours? Cheers for the reply. Daniel

Hesitant of late - loss of power?

Right not had any lights on the dash since the fault with the MAP sensor. Only thing I would say is the engine is on the noisy side and the exhaust seems to sound slightly 'odd'. Any ideas? Have a nasty feeling I have a valve issue but that is only a gut instinct. Thanks
